Hello! Well that is a very interesting question. It always happened to me eveytime I watched movies especially foreign movies. I just remembered watching a chinese movie entitled "The Banquet". Since majority of chinese movies needs interpretations, I had a hard time understanding that movie. To the point that I really did watched it five times, I never stop watching that movie not until I fully understand it. That is funny thing to do. But if you really have the spirit to understan the movie, then why not do watch it as many times as you want until you fully understand such. After all, you will fell no regret because you did undrestand it.

LOL!!! I'm a Chinese,I also didn't undertand the film of "The Banquet"!So unreadable! Especially the end of it,who killed Wan'er! I saw about it on line, they said the murderer is Qing,at that time, she was played possum, she has the antidote of poison. But in fact, the murderer is ambition from Wan'er herself.

hi laura! well it really depends on the situation. if it is just a home and we have the dvd copy, then i have the option not to continue. but if i were at the moviehouse, i think i will continue for the sake of the money that i have paid the theater. i know, it is agonizing to continue watching a movie for two hours especially if you don't understand it. but well, i guess it is human nature, wanting to get your money's worth and you end up enduring a really bad movie. so what i do with my husband is to really choose the movie that we want to watch at the theater. usually it is those big movies like spiderman and superman. other than those types of movies, we watch them on dvd at home ....hehe pirated of course. hehe because my brother in law buys them and supplies them to us. take care all and God bless you! :-)

Well if i dont understand the movie i usually finish watching it and review it again so i will be able to understand it. Maybe some of here doesnt like that idea but i like to find out the story what is it all about. Since i already watch it i will try to understand and find it out maybe i miss something important seen in the movie to clear those mystery of the movie.

Yah, I sometimes discontinue watching a movie when i find it boring or I don't know, sometimes I just don't feel like watching so I switch to another movie again. But sometimes if I don't have anything more to watch, I got back to the film that i did not finish watching and I continue watching it.But most often, I skip some boring scenes and just want the ending.hehehe

If I get bored and don't seem to understand anything on what I'm watching I just stop watching it. Matrix Sequel is good unfortunately I don't understand it...lol... maybe I'm just not fond of those kind of sci-fi movies so I didn't watch it at all.

I haven't had this happen to me but if it had, I would stop watching the film before the end.Why try to watch a film and get more and more frustrated. There are many other films out there.

If I'm watching a movie in the cinema and it is becoming strange then I might as well stay hoping that I will understand it eventually. The price of a movie ticket does not come cheap anymore here. If I'm just watching on a television then probably I will immediately change the channel.

I'm also somewhat like that. That is why, I never watch such movies. I limit myself to funny comedy movies only, which release my stress also.

I remember seeing a movie called Minority Report at the theaters that was complex for me to grasp what all was going on. Since I was at the theaters anyway I stayed to watch it. I understood it somewhat from the commercials I seen about it at home. I just didn't understand what all was going on through lots of the movie and all the high tech gadgets. It was just too out there for me.

There has been quite a few movies I did not understand when I watched them the first time, though I continued to watch them, eventually figuring them out. Those types of movies seem to be interesting as they make for longer conversation.

yes, i would continue and if i dun get it, i would watch it again either by downloading or get a copy. i would not spend money to watch it again in cinema as it is not worth it and i think that is what the director wanted. pp who dun get it to pay and watch again. i would note the movie and once i can find it online, i would watch it again to understand it. if not, i would discuss and chat with my friends on them and we can pool together our thinking and chances are, we can know the meaning of the movies and their scenes

Whether I continue or not depends on my mood, I think. Sometimes I give up pretty fast. If a film is too strange or if I just don't understand it, I usually don't have enough patience to keep on watching it. If I am very interested in the topic of the film, I might continue a little longer, even if I don't understand much of it. Somestimes I let the film play without really watching it, instead I listen to the film while doing something else.

There has to be somethin gabout the movie that intrigued me to begin with, so even if I do not completely understand it I try to watch it in the hopes that understanding will come. If the movie is even slightly entertaining I may even give it a second run-through in the hopes that I will understand it. I like being challengedto grasp things I would not normally try.

I try to watch it. there has only been two movies I was completely lost on...Moholland Drive (deeply disturbingly confusing) and Saw. Now I completed both...MD I am still lost on, but I have to say at the point in the movie SAW where I was just about to say WTH it all came into place. But Moholland Drive...I am still years later in the WTH range with that one....

For me, most of the movies were fine but sometimes the accent of the character is difficult to understand. That's what makes me sleepy and end the movie sooner.

Usually if I start a movie and I don't understand it at first I will contiue to watch it because usually it all comes togeher and starts to make sense. There has been a movie or two that by half way through the movie I still didn't understand it so then those I just shut it off. Usually if you don't get whats going on by the middle of the movie then I don't like the movie.

Yes, I try to continue and most of the time I do. I hope that by the end of the movie that the movie in general would make some sense, but most of the times I just end of more confused than when I started. I have two examples, Blair Witch Project and Cloverfield. Both of them were completely useless movies. A complete waste of my time.

I go for a movie if I am getting good feed backs. Mostly watch the movies of my fan. Since am particular about these facts I have not been in such a situation what you have experienced.
