How powerful is a prayer for you?

We all pray to God our father in heaven right? Or at least most of us. But do you think our prayers are heard, and in every prayer you have made, how many answered prayers did you get? Once twice? or none? Do you believe that a single prayer can make a big difference in your life or someones life?

My prayers are heard it's just that i don't expect any replies. That's how it works for me. Besides i seldom pray for myself because i pray for the people around me like my family and friends. Even Manny Pacquiao. My prayers are heard most of the time especially when it's not about me. If it's about me then i must have prayed a thankful prayer. I never forget to thank Him through prayers. So basically i have some unanswered prayers of my own but it's ok because i should be doing most of the work. I should be right? I just can't depend on prayers alone.

Thanks for your response, personally, I too believe in the power of prayer, and the more you pray for others, the more God will bless you... and the more answered prayer you will have, when we have unanswered prayer, probably it not his will for you, or he just wants us to wait cuz he has something better... God's plan is to prosper us not to harm us...

Just don't rely too much on prayers especially when you're doing nothing. God knows if we are sincere anyways. That's why i rarely pray for my own good because it won't be sincere unlike when i pray for my family. It just means i need something beyond my capacity.

No, prayers are not heard. Well, maybe they are; but they have about as much effect as Cheif Engineer Scotty 'talking to late-80's computers' in STAR TREK IV ("Oh, Computerr? Oh - - - Computerr?" ) The effect that prayer does have---it gives you a kind of 'peace' ... the idea that 'the matter is no longer in your hands, that it's being taken care-of by those with the power to do it.' Well, that's in matters not under your control. Prayer also has an effect when matters ARE under your control---it alerts you to the ways your prayer has been answered. But like I ought to have told my buddy when he said he 'prayed for marriage & then let go of it & "left it in G*d's hands"'; he gave you an answer, but you have to GO AND GET IT.
