What the Hex Is this "System Idle Process," & Why Does It Use So Much CPU?

On my Windows Task Manager (which I have to open to stop my FireFox from running ... don't know what they think that 'X' in the corner is FOR anymore ), I read the last entry in Processes. System...

Why Not a Master-Cookie (Where You Log-In Once & You're Signed into Everything)?

There should be a site that--when you sign in--it refreshes-or-reloads-or-installs a cookie that--when you visit any of the sites you visit daily (Facebook, Blogger/BlogSpot, YouTube, here, Hi5,...

Why Don't Member-Paying Networks Put Their Advertising on Their Own Script?

At the advice of some myLot-responses, I 'Search the Web'-ed "NoScript FireFox" to find-&-download FireFox's NoScript-extension.

I 'allow' mylot.com and any google-scripts, but--even on this...

Why Don't They Do Internet-Advertising Like Television-? or Even Magazine-?

mythociate responded to a discussion called Same Sex Marriage in relationships.
The truth remains the same, no matter how you feel about it. The truth is, we are tools of all the people around us (just as they are all tools of us.) A nail that won't be hammered straight-&-firm into the siding is withdrawn and thrown-away ... the tool-man doesn't care 'how the nail feels about that.' One argument for same-sex marriage is that "happiness is our unalienable r...

Your ex probably left you for someone else who made them happier, yes? (I think of Ted Mosby from How I Met Your Mother, whose former bride-to-be ran out on their wedding to get back together with her ex-husband; and--although he spent a whole episode getting up the courage to confront her & her reunited husband--Ted saw how happy the two were together and was happy for them.) You ...

Oh![em]w00t[/em] Don't we have technology that handles that now? [em]sleep[/em]

You mean cookie-files carry information OTHER THAN 'usernames & passwords'? Maybe someone could write a Super SubCookie, one that was a part of each of the regular cookie-files, but only had that little bit of information. Maybe I should 'Search the Web' (text-box on every myLot page) to find out more about "cookie-files" [em]cool[/em]

I'm only on the Internet for FUN! FUN is ALWAYS convenient, and a little 'insecurity' makes it FUNNER [em]silly[/em][em]evilgrin[/em][em]cheering[/em]

Thanks. I have- and regularly (about every three-to-six hours) run-cCleaner (a program that deletes a bunch of cookies, Recycle Bin files, Temp files & the like). If on pre-analysis of the files to erase I don't have at-least ten Mgs of files to get rid of, then I run my defragmenter's analyzer and then defrag 'if it tells me I should.' [em]angel[/em] Maybe I'll 'Search the Web' to see if...

Aye, but 'it's better to overhaul your vehicle every so-often than it is to wait until you break-down out in the middle of nowhere.'

But using the HOSTS file does factor out a lot of the domain-name-resolution waiting (where--instead of going connecting to a DNS and seeing if they have the IP-address for the site you're looking for, and then connecting to another one and another one until you find it--your browser just goes to your HOSTS file and finds what it needs there), yeah?

Sounds like the time-difference would be that between 'turning on one light' and 'turning on a row of lights' [em]rolleyes[/em]
