Do People Ever Give You Batteries to go with a Gift?

There are so many things that require batteries these days. Not just toys but gadgets and gizmos too. Every time we get some kind of gift that requires a battery there usually isn't one included. If there is one in the package then you've hit the jackpot! Whenever my kids get toys from people and the toy doesn't have a battery I wish people would give the battery too. It would make things so much easier if people would just check to see if the gift needs a battery before they wrap the present and if it does need one to include one with it then. I can't tell you how many times our kids have received something that requires a battery and then we don't have a battery around the house to put in the toy/gadget. Then the kids are upset because they can't play with it until mommy or daddy can get to the store to buy some batteries. Any one else getting frustrated with this?

If I don't know what to give, I will give batteries, I give the most popular types. Who can't use more batteries? I would like this gift myself.

I would so appreciate batteries as a gift, double AA's. I tend to use these the most.

Yes, always give the batteries too. It's tacky to give a gift that costs the recipient money... besides, who wants to wait until after you go shopping to play with a new present?

You are so right. The kids don't want to wait. They want to play now.

My inlaws do. We recently went to a 5 year olds birthday party and gave him a hot wheel track, it required two "D" batteries, which we provided. How frustrating if he were to go home and not be able to play with it because there were no batteries!

When I was a kid, I usually would get a gift but I didn't get batteries to operate it. It kinda like annoyed me to it must have annoyed other people. Well even now days when some people gift me they forget to gift a battery along. Well, you can always keep an extra pair of batteries yourself so that when someone gives you a gift which needs batteries then you can simply put the once you have.
