does anyone make their own Christmas ornaments. We just got our Christmas tree yesterday and i was thinking it would be fun for my son and me to make some ornaments for our tree. My son is 7 years old. does anyone have any ideas or links to web pages that will show you how to make ornaments?

Lol, our tree is full with ornaments my kids made in school and at church. You can do a search and probably find some good craft sites with excellent suggestions. The craft stores or craft sections at discount retailers offers quite a good assortment of kits that can be used for that purpose. And don't forget the good old propcorn string;)

I loved making decorations with my kids when they were young. Here is a website that I found a lot of cute things on. www.familyfun.com There is Christmas crafts and all kind of fun stuff to do. Have fun!

You can use old Christmas cards and decoupage them to wooden ornaments that you can purchase for about 25 cents at your local craft store.

when my girls were younger we used to take a p.a. day when they were off school and make a whole bunch of salt dough christmas ornaments. of course, now that they are older (11 and 15) we dont do that anymore, but we used to have a lot of fun. then we would take time to paint them and put ribbons on them and give them as gifts to grandparents and the like.

I have a lot of home made ornaments that my children and even my grandparents have made over the years. There is nothing as nice as the homemade ones. I used to get some baubles and get glitter and glue and let my daughters decorate their own ornaments. You can buy little tiny glitter stars and snowflakes and stick them to a lot of oraments and things also. I used to cut out star shapes and cover them with foil or you could cover them with glitter also. Then get some red thin ribbon, loop it and hang it from the tree. I got some paints also and wrote all my childrens names on some tree oraments when they where little. My daughters have always loved craft and I think your son will have a great time with some glitter and some craft clue.
