For some persons ego helps to motivate them and for others ego makes them into selfish individuals . What do you think ?

Hey Ronny! Awesome question brother. I think having an ego is healthy. It just means that you are very confident about whatever it is you have an ego about. People tell me I have an ego because I think I'm decent at professional wrestling. I just shake it off and continue my day like it's regular. Happy MyLotting Ronny!

Abit of an ego is good in a man or woman, but when it becomes over bearing and big headed then no.I suppose if you are in business and in the working competative environmnt then it must be a helpful skill but leave it there, the normal run of the mill people are not impressed by it.Did I get carried away sorry.x

Hi, There is a very thin line between ego and self respect. One shd possess self respectell with yr and not ego. For example if u had a quarell with yr best buddy and u r not feeling right abt it, but then u r hesitating to go and make up with yr friend. That is ego. Self respect is like say suppose yr boss is upset with u and gets over the line. Say he abuses u and u digest it becoz he is yr boss. Thats when u got to defend and hot it back. SO u got to decide whether u have ego or self respect. Cheers, Tutul

Very aptly said Tutul0045. There is a thin line between these two and we do not know when these interchange. Many people take self-respect to be arrogance which is why there are difference of opinions. Cheers..

Well, I think ego is something which is congenial. If a person is born in a say very rich family his ego is bloated and he likes to flaunt his wealth and richness. But for instance if the person is born in a poor family he is not egoistic about his status and wealth for that matter. He might be good at other things which he may like to boast but as far as money is concerned he remains humble. With this thing we can say that ego is something which shows its presence when you come to know that you are superior to others in one way or the other. As you said, ego might help some people to be motivated and achieve their goals. But they are not seeing the larger picture. In achieving their goals if they are pulling others back they are infact losing than winning. Their victory is temperory and in the long run they are at a loss. But the same is not with the humble people. Even if they are not as good as those who are achievers they are loved and liked by all the people and are looked to when any need arises.

We do need ego but only to an extent, we must not be so egoistic that we can do anything and everything in this world. Too much ego is certainly bad. But a little ego is good. Ego is not an enemy in every occasion but then if we have too much of it, we will have to face problems. when we live in ego we are obviously subject to feelings like superiority or inferiority, pride and worthlessness , success and failure, so on and so forth. So, what i feel is we need to be careful in presenting ourselves and know that we must have ego only that much which is sufficient for us.

I believe that ego can be a very beneficial tool. Ego can provide inspiration and motivation which can allow someone to succeed. I also think that ego can make some people seem very self-centered. The second type of ego is obviously not fair to those around you. If you are able to control your ego and not let it get the better of you, than I think ego can be very beneficial.

I depends on how far they take the ego. If a person is really annoying and think they are so great and wonderful, then yes, I think it is a bad thing. If they are not rude to every individual, then I believe it is okay.
