letter boxes

Ours is on the brick wall of the building, it is old and broken, we don't like it but the landlord won't change it.

Our letter box, or mail box as we call it, is not up at our house but I sure do wish it was. Used to our mail boxes were on the outside of the house next to the front door now ours are on a post near the street and the postman drives a mail truck and drives up to the mail box and puts the mail in there. If we have mail to be picked up we raise the red flag on it so he will know there is mail in there so he can stop and pick it up in case he don't have to stop to put mail in there. I like it at the door better because now days there is so much stealing of mail going on.

My letter box is right outside my front door on my house. It is a nice black metal box that I bought from ABC Distributing for less than $15. We had just painted our house when I saw the box in the order book. It was in my price range. It looks great on my house.

My letter box is fixed in the gate...... I don't like them in the front door.

hey anne I have a letter box installed in our front gate. But the thing is it doesn't find its use too often. Our postman comes on a bicycle,as with most postmen in india. He rings the bell on his cycle till someone goes to the gate to receive the letter. he uses the letter box only when nobody is at home,which happens very rarely.

My letter box is in the middle of door as well but on of my friends has their letter box further up their front door.

we find it quite cumbersome to have letter boxes outside our house,we do have a letter box opening way down our front door.that way our letters are not misplaced. happy mylotting.

our mailbox hangs on the railing of our front porch. we do have a mail slot in our front door, but we don't use it because of the dog, lol. she would have a good time tearing up the mail.

Hi anne~Well, Since I live in an apartment the mailbox is in the hallway. So I just have to go out of my front door and it is on the wall! There is a little hallway and that is where the mailboxes are for the four apartments that share the front outside door. There are frosted glass panels on each side of the door. The apartments are all attached in the back of the buildings, but in the front there are only 4 apartments per front door.

Ours is at eye level next to our front door on the outside of the house.

Since I reside in an apartment, my mailbox is down one floor, on the ground level. So, I usually check my mailbox when I get home from work.

I wish our mailbox was at our front door. Instead it is down the lane, and we have to go out to get it. It is about 250 feet from the house...not far I know, but still, it is a pain when it is cold outside, like now.

I have removed the letter box from its place. At preset, this is not desirable for me. Most of my letters now land at my e-mail INBOX! Thanks to the Internet, the www concept and also to IT. Thanks to you also!

We have what is called a "rural route" and the mail man drives up and sticks in it a box out on the street. I remember having one when I was a kid, but they changed it to a walking route before we moved. I kindda like it. When I was visiting my friend in Houston, we saw the mailbox we had that we gave her when we moved to this house - pretty good for a 26 or so year old mailbox!

I do know about the letterboxes in european countries, because i have seen them in movies and shows.. haha ^_^ IN the past, singapore do have the same posting system just like europe.. But i dunno why they changed, and now, because our houses are built upwards, to become flats, so all the residents letterbox will be at the void deck, whereby each family will have their individual letterbox.. hehe
