It's possible to increase the traffic by using the SEO techniques. You can do the blogging, article and directory submission, forum posting etc., Or you may get the SEO package from http://www.thewebpole.com/ .It helps to increase the traffic.

That will depend on what type of site it is, and what you get by people going there. If you get something just for the number of hits you get and it doesn't matter how long people stay there, or you're not looking for them to buy or do something, then traffic exchanges are good. You look at other sites for x number of seconds and you get your site shown too. If you want people to find it when searching for something, then keywords are most important, and you might also try posting on forums and bulletin boards and such where people might be looking for what you have to offer. Again, what type of site is it?

There's many different ways you can go about attracting more visitors to your site. The big one of course is getting your link out there - without spamming. You can do things like visiting forums related to your site and posting relevant information, leaving a link to your site in the signature box. Write and submit articles to the free article directories - link in resource box Set up a squidoo lens or hubpage etc with a link back That's a couple of the better ways to get visitors to your site - doing it that way means the people are coming because they have an interest in what your site is about. By having your link on other sites, the search engine spiders follow your link from the site so get more information on it etc.
