Finding your true inner voice

We all have numerous inner voices clamoring for our attention, so how are we to know the one which speaks the truth? Your true inner voice is the one that encourages you, gives you hope and tells you to trust and believe in yourself. It will also speak to you with words of compassion, understanding and love. It will lift your spirits, and urge you to go after your dreams. It will never cause confusion, remind you of past mistakes or cause you to doubt yourself. The best way to connect with that voice is to remain relaxed and alert. Stay away from the voices that bring self-doubt, suggest selfishness or cause you to be critical. The best way to know that you are following your true inner voice is the peace of mind that it brings.

Yes, sometimes we have an inner voice that demands revenge ,but at the end is better to listen to the inner voice who is concentrating on positive things like reaching our goals and dreams.

I think one find his true inner voice when he goes into the desert. Not literally but when one turns off anything that distracts him and relfects about life. Thanks for posting this discussion.

Yup...there are many inner voices...sometimes, it is a real cacophony of voices. Many times, I get thoughts alien to my nature, and I wonder, "Now where do these thoughts come from?" Do you think thoughts come to us from OUTSIDE and not INSIDE as we feel they do? I have always wondered about this. Cheers and happy mylotting

Hi positiveminded, Thank you for responding. I believe that all of our thoughts come from within us, but of course we can be affected by something another person says. Blessings.

I think it's really about learning lessons from our past mistakes. We are all human; we all make mistakes, the key is learning from them. Our inner voice develops as we develop and are better educated. I always find it amazing how a little education and learning can go a long way into knowing or assuming what is right and what is wrong. Just a shame for some that they can't see what is right or wrong.

I do not know anything about inner voice. So far, I have not heard of any voice within me. Regarding selfishness, I feel selfishness is a virtue. If I was not selfish, I would have never been successful in my life. It is selfishness that has made me what I am. If I was not selfish, then I would have been on the streets.
