The longest time you ever use computer without turning it off?

I once let my computer on for three days,But I'm not always in front of it:-0 when I need to download something, I 'd keep my computer on,and I'm gonna do something else.The longest time I spent in front of the computer is about 20 hours,I was playing a MMORPG then,and I hardly leave my chair.

12 hours is the longest time one can spend at the computer. But I have managed even 14 hours and 16 hours- ALL NON-STOP. So it really depends. If I do not have important appointments. Or other tasks to do at home. I do know people who NEVER turns off their computers, and they are online 24h a day and 7 days a week all year long, unless their laptops breaks down or refuses to work any single minute more! I could not do such thing to my laptop. I try to balance intensive days with below average using time days.

i never really turn my computer off only yo update it are to clean it our thats about it i do try it off during a storm as you know electric travels throught the plugs so i make sure it,s off.i also use my computer 7 days a week my computer is being well used.

I didnt turn off my computer for three full days before a couple of months and i had my computer running really slow and then i switched it off and i worked for nearly ten hours a day in the computer and i think those three days were the best days in the usage of the computer in my life..even though i enjoyed i was really stressed about that..happy mylotting...

i think i have done more than 24 hours when i was doing my thesis writing. it was near the deadline for the submission of our thesis to be ready for thesis defense. if i missed that deadline, i would have to wait for the next semester. that means additional expenses and longer time for me to get my diploma, so i burned my hours infront of a pc to finish a draft of thesis. i graduated in time during that semester.

Wait a minute...we're not suppossed to be on them 24/7?? Then that must explain the way my housework has fallen by the wayside!...lol I'm usually on the pc for anywhere between 5-7 hours a day. Weekends maybe for a total of 5 hours, because I do try to do my laundry. I refuse to sit in front of the PC with funky clothes. DCMerkle

In my case it has been in weeks. Since, I am a Software Engineer it often happens that my office desktop is on for more than 2-3 weeks as we have some critical softwares running.

I keep the computer on all day, but I am usually at it except for a couple of hours. Now before I got my anti virus to come on sooner, I kept the computer on all night, that is twelve hours and turned it off in the morning, then turned it back on again. Since I am on the computer most of the time, I would say about twelve hours or so. Unless I am going somewhere most of the time, but it takes a while to load up, so the only time it is off is when I am going to sleep.

when my brother was still living with us, he was very addicted to computer games. he used to leave the computer on for 2-3 whole days. he only shuts it off for like 10 minutes and then uses it again for his online games.. Our electricity bill that time was very expensive

Ya, I don't turn off my computer usually. it works 24X7 for me. I don't preper giving rest to it my longest time is 12 days Even though i was not at my desk i will put some download and go away. when i woke up first i look at my moniter that whether the downloads are complted or not. after coming home from my college first i turnon my computer then i change my cloths..

The past week I left my computer on 24 hours a day 7 days a week without turning it off. Of course I don't use my computer THAT long, I just didn't turn it off I just went to bed with it still running. Why? Don't know, maybe I'm lazy plump lazy and didn't feel like turning it off. I use my computer about 8 hours a day on and off during the day. I always have a million other things to do so I'm just taking a blind guess here.

Well, I'am a complete freak about computers. The longest I've gone online and kept the computer on is for about more than 2 weeks. That was when i was downloading some movies and softwares and music. The longest I've spent is more than 27 hours continuously in front of the screen.

Hello Margarit! I think I have used my computer today the longest time as far as I can remember, I tuned it on today at around 10AM and it is already 11:30PM right now while I am responding to your discussion. I actually turned my computer on early because I was supposed to be here in myLot that early so that I could recover from the past weeks of posting only a few responses. But my sister who is abroad was online in skype so we chatted until 2PM. My niece used this afterwards because she needed to do some research for school and she finished at around 4PM. My other niece used this also as she checked her Friendster and Multiply and finished after an hour while I was taking a bath. At around 5PM, my sister-in-law came to our house and we watched a local show in Youtube which we failed to watch last night. I started here in myLot at around 8PM with some pauses as I needed to eat dinner and watch TV. I think my computer will still be on until 2AM today. No worries about waking up tomorrow because my class will start at around 3:30PM.

The longest time I've kept my computer on I think it was for 2-3 weeks. I was having a contest with a neighbor on exactly the same thing: who would keep it more without turning it off :)) I won, he accidently unplugged it :))

I don’t have the internet at home so my home consumption is very low. So for continuous use, it has to be my office computer. it runs at a stretch for 8 hours daily.

I usually keep my computer on forever. I mean i only switch it off once a week for few hours to give my machine some rest. I do use my computer 15 hours a day continuously sometimes. I keep my computer on because i usually keep downloading movies and other things from p2p softwares. be happy..

well the longest i used w/out turning it off was like arnd 30 hrs! i was downloading this large file nad i wanted it badly! but i thnk i USED the computer for abt 14hrs tht day! happy lotting and have a nice day!

hello there friend... you will be suprised how many hours i turned on my computer without shutting it down... i think i run my computer for about 8 days straight without turning off... lol... i hope the computer won't lose its performance...

I can go around 5 hours without getting away from the computer. I do love the computer - wonderful invention! Still, I get headaches if I stay on too long, and it becomes so dull and boring watching a movie or completing work in front of the computer. This is only for entertainment! WHen I work I stick in front of the computer for 8 hours - TERRIBLE!

the longest time would be a day. i was downloading a movie that time using a torrent. and i was so excited that i wanted to watch the film immediately after downloading it. unfortunately after 24 hours the downloading was not yet finish. to may dis may i turned off the pc and resume the downloading the 2 days after
