It might have been taking most of your time instead of reading the Bible that's the reason why we have to be careful about watching tv, anyway we are told to do what is to glorify God so first thing that we have to do is to share God's word to them that are lost as in 2Cor. 4:3-4 says.

I don't really think that it is against God to watch them. But sometimes it really is against Him to believe them. You should trust God and not believe everything that you see. For serious. ~Jesus loves you and I do too!~

No.. but personally I love watching dvd's and reading books about how science does not support man's theory of evolution (as to origins) I love science and these things are truly fascinating.. And there's so much of it. I buy these on clearance from http://www.answersingenesis.org - It's really eye opening and quite fascinating. I love it! ..especially as so many people somehow have gotten the impression that the theory has been proven and is now fact! When that is not at all true! (Though you hear it said or implied all the time.) Natural Law doesn't even support it, which is to say, science doesn't support it! The theory actually requires the biggest immaculate conception imaginable! (And lots of blind faith.) - I've found a lot of the science shows and also history are very slanted towards the belief of not taking bible writings as a part of history like other documents are, and the assumption that since God cannot exist, the theory of evolution must be true. (Clue: That's not science!) ..all the best..

I am afraid shows like this do detract away from the Lord. It totally gives the attention to the person with the power, and not giving the glory to God. The Bible is very clear to stay away from witches and witchcraft. It also gives warning of false teachers and teachings.

No, because God says to "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good" (I Thes. 5:21). Watching television shows that understand how God's creations works is a great meditation upon all things God made. God commands that everyone prove all things. You should have an analytical mind and be wary of things that sound a bit too good to be true. This also means you must prove the Bible and not believe it blindly. Test the logic. Understand the patterns. Test God's words in the Bible against things you've grown up hearing about. Do the research and the looking. But Hold Fast to those things that are good. Now, shows like "The Haunting" can be interesting. If I understand correctly, people go ghost chasing. This contradicts God's commandment, however, about not "Seeking Familiar Spirits". God doesn't want us to looking for these spirits who portray themselves as ghosts and other such nonsense because we end up worshipping these unreliable sources rather than God Himself.

It is not really the watching that is bad but it is when you believe these things and incorporate it into your life. In fact I think there are some benefits to watching this stuff so that you can reach out to the fans of these shows. But of course you might be tempted as well. On another note, in my opinion you shouldn't watch too much either. Since if you watch too much, the producers of these shows will benefit from you as well and will keep on producing such shows. My suggestion is that watch as so as to be familiar or if you can try to find reading materials about the show so it won't benefit from you watching it.

I don't think it's against God, it's more against ourselves if we allow these things to consume our lives. As far as the scientific explanations, when man learns enough his scientific explanations won't contradict the holy writings, it will substantiate them. The only reason science and God seem at odds now is that science just hasn't grown enough to include God. In the meantime I enjoy listening to how science explains things. I've lived a long time, and scientific explanations keep changing, letting me know science isn't perfect. . .God is.

Personally I believe TV and a lot of other things in this world go against God's plan for mankind. The biggest thing I see wrong with things like this is the fact it keeps our minds busy and could hamper God's personal teaching. However I do believe God can use TV and other things to teach us His truth about this world and mankind. God wants us to know the real truth about what we are seeing and hearing.

You should always be careful in choosing TV programs. Having a good understanding about spiritual realm, you will know what I mean. Many things can influence you. Things that you saw and hear are some of those. Do not defile your soul. Keep it blameless.
