I was watching the news this morning and all up and down the coast people were having a terrible time driving in the ice and snow. Have you ever spun out? If so what did you do? I did this once and there was nothing I could do but hang on. My angels were there, I was in the middle of a snowy frozen road, no one hit me, car and driver shaken but OK. How about you?

I lived in Maryland and drove in bad weather for many, many years. The problem with ice and snow is that you have little to no control and you're supposed to do exactly the opposite of what your brain is telling you to do. You're supposed to turn the wheel in the direction you're heading...which makes sense, it helps you regain control of the vehicle...but if you're headed for a tree, your brain tells you to turn the wheel in the opposite direction and you don't regain control. So, as I recall, I've hit two trees, one telephone pole and a neighbor's fence during my bad weather travels.

glad you're ok and I hope you don't have to drive there anymore.

No, I live in Florida now so I don't have to deal with ice and snow. The only bad road conditions we get down here are hard rains when hurricanes and tropical storms are coming and I'm usually off the road long before the weather turns bad.

My husband use to plow snow and he was on the phone with me one day and got hit. Sent him and the truck spinning down the road he wasnt hurt but the kid that hit him was shaken up. He tells me all sorts of stories of what he sees when he is out plowing snow. He has been in a few other acdients but they werent his fault.

I have spun out a couple of times, that I can remember. The first time was when I was still a teenager, but I was NOT driving crazy. I was driving along the road and hit a patch of ice and started to spin. I took my foot off the gas pedal and gained control of the car. But I was still a little shaken The second spin out I had was just a couple of years ago. I was driving at night on a dirt road, which is not travelled on very much, hit a patch of ice and spun out into the ditch. Luckily, both times someone was with me and no one got hurt. Ice is not fun to drive on
