I've been told that I've probably always had depression, I do remember being an unhappy child/teen for no good reasons. The pain from my fibro sure hasn't helped my moods any, but didn't come with them. What does your doc say about this hyperventilation? I see we talked about this over a month ago in another discussion...

PMS, that is ONE thing that NOBODY has ever accused me of. In fact, the doctor has said in the past that of all my problems, being "hormonal" isn't one of them.

Ach! Wrote a long response and then my computer froze. I have never experienced anxiety or panic attacks with fibro. I have had heart palpitations. The doctor told me to lie on my left side (the side the heart is on) and push like having a bowel movement. This stops heart palpitations. In fact, I can do it without lying down sometimes. My daughter has anxiety attacks when she travels long distances. I gave her some Rescue Remedy to spray in her mouth. It helps. I've used it myself when I feel I'm beginning to get upset about something. I have my depression under control with an anti-depressant but it doesn't help the pain. Pain is affected by stress, activity and weather (which we can't control). I am in a major flare right now because of the up and down weather we've been having (my legs are killing me). The best thing we can do is try and control our attitude. A good attitude goes a long way.

When I use to get panic attacks I did have a few episodes of hyperventilation but I don't get them anymore. I think I am dealing depression which does not help the pain much at all.
