Karma Chameleon

I was driving back home and Karma Chameleon started playing on the radio. Yes, I still listen to the car radio every now and then. I started to sing a long. I know the lyrics but the more I think about it, the more it doesn't make sense. I just don't know what the song means except that it's a love gone sour. Can you think of other songs that you know by heart but you don't know what they mean? Here's a link if you want to spend some time listening and looking at Boy George. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YziFJLOz8vY

hahahaha... Most bollywood songs have no meanings and most are sounds weird with undefined beats and some erratic lyrics. I can never really decipher those. I better not.

They used to, hon but nowadays the trend has been changed to a great extent. The songs are inappropriate and just pop up anywhere and everywhere without any meaning!

I think most trends nowadays, no matter which country they originate or are famous in, they are inappropriate and do not make sense at all. I just love the whole bollywood theme. I like the colors, the dances and the music. It's entrancing.

But I thought the guy and the girl speak to each other while they sing, Mimpi?

Parts of "Yellow" by Coldplay..."Look At The Stars,LaLaLa,Yeah They Were All "YELLOW"... LaLaLa,Oh What A Thing To Do & It Was All "YELLOW"...Actually,i get the gist: Yellow= Sunny,Bright, Happy... Yet it's always fun to plead the "CHEWBACCA DEFENSE" & say "it does NOT MAKE SENSE"! ...So on that note,Lalala...I Wrote a Song For You & It Was Called "JAUNDICE":} P.S. Take it away, Karma Chameleons...."LOVING WOULD BE EASY IF YOUR COLORS WERE LIKE MY DREAMS... ....RED, GOLD & GREEN...RED,GOLD & GREEEEEEN..."

A LOT of songs do not make sense at all. I'm with you there, riyasam. I know it's not really a Bollywood movie but Bend it Like Beckham is one of my favorites ever!

I sing a lot of songs that I don't know the meaning of I just sing because I like and know the song. Thank you for the link to Boy George..It is great hearing him sing again. I have always wonder what happened to him. I used to love seeing him singing and dancing. I never think to look at You Tube.

LOL. He might have been singing this song when he was sweeping the streets as part of his community service, Chevee. Thanks.

My mom said when she was younger she went to see a Boy George concert. It kind of made me and my sister giggle, but we still thought it was cool that she actually saw him. I don't know the lyrics to the song, but I figured it was just one of those songs that is difficult to decipher. Mostly the songs I cannot understand are from Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, and The Beatles. There are modern songs I cannot understand either, but I mostly listen to classic rock. I tend to appreciate songs more even if i can't understand them. Simply because they are so poetic. =]

Hey SaintAnee, Just dropped by to put my five cents in and say if it means anything, rumour has it that the Karma Chameleon song was directed to Boy Georges former flame, one of the Culture Club members. It makes sense if you consider the song from the point of view that Boy George is singing this to the guy. So..lyrics : George '...if I listen to your lies would you say' (Guy) - 'I'm a man without conviction, I'm a man who doesn't know to sell a contradiction' - guy is saying that is he is innocent and that he is not lying, when clearly he is. George...'you come and goX2 karma karma...karma chameleon (the guy is undecisive, always changing is mind so is said to be a chameleon), you come and go x2, loving will be easy if your colours were like my dream...(the relationship would have been more easier if the guy wasnt so undecisive)...lol..that hope that helps. Remember, I could be 100% wrong about this, this is all just based on a rumour lol...

LOL. I enjoyed your rumor/explanation for the song, imahamo. And why are red gold and green the only colors in his dreams? Thanks for sharing, imahamo.

Color me an old fogey, as I can never figure out the good in any of that stuff. Well, I was pretty much that way as a teenager, too. I was at work, the others were "bopping" to their music, now they are at work, and I am retired. What comes around goes around, I guess. Poor me, I don't know any songs by heart.

I will color you an old fogey rainbow... your avatar now makes me want to go to Chili's and have some lime chicken, drannhh. I pretty much know a lot of songs by heart. I love to sing but the voice isn't there.
