Christmas eve and New Year are both big celebration for all christians. To most filipinos it is a big event for the family to gather together. We call that dinner "Noche Buena'. Nothing compares to the joy you feel seeing your family around who travel just to spend time to be with you. We usually prepare a lot of filipino food for the family to share like maja, leche flan, bibingka(rice cake), puto(glutinous rice in a banana leaf, lumpia(spring rolls, pancit (noodle dish) and some fruits like mangoes. I like preparing food the fresher always come out the better. It is always a thing I love to do anyway. How do you celebrate Christmas? Do you like cooking food for the family or do you go to the restaurant to avoid the hassle in preparing food for dinner?

We don't do anything special on christmas eve, we save it all for christmas day, when we'll make ham, mashed potatos, corn, honey glazed carrots, green beans, and some dinner rolls. Desserts usually comprise of chocolate chip and sugar cookies, but sometimes have pie, some sort of pudding, or cobbler. If we go to my Grandmother's house, we tend to have jello-popcorn balls and marshmellow slaw. This year we have jelly drop cookies, lemon cookies, chocolate chip cookies, and sugar cookies. My Mom intends to make cobbler...and I'm considering making pear pudding. We're giving alot of the desserts away, but the main reason for making more than usual is we've been fortunate enough to have recieved extra fruits that need to be put to some use...and we don't often have desserts in the house so...for christmas...=)

I see. I am glad that you have shared that information to us. It is always good to be able to know how people celebrate such occasion such as christmas. There may be a little bit of a difference in time but for sure the reason is all the same that it is all for the family and for christmas. Hmmm, I love desserts. Thank you for sharing your views.

As an HRM student I think I can help my mom prepare for the noche buena. I love Christmas because it is a good time for families to gather. I have come to love making food so I will try it out now to make food for the family. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Helping out your family in preparing food is a really good idea. That's the spirit of christmas. I hope you enjoyed your time on what you plan to do. It is in being together that the family will grow stronger. So what dishes do you plan to make this christmas?

Lasagna and spaghetti sounds good. I love them too. If there are just the two of you going out would not be a really bad idea. It can save you time and effort not really with money thought.lol. But well it's your choice and as long as you are spending it with a love one.
