I hate getting down on my knees to clean and scrub out my bath tub. I went to the dollar store and purchased one of those brooms with the plastic sweepers (straws, needles)I use this standing up. Sometime I still have to give it a good old fashion scrubbing to get all the grime and dirt off. I find this to be a great relief on the knees. Do You have a special way of cleaning your bath tub?

I do have a sponge on a handle and it works good for cleaning the tub because I am not at all able to get on my knees.

That looks like a great idea. I have a hard time with the tub too.

We don't have a tub in our master bathroom but a walk in shower. Well we do have a whirlpool tub but we hardly ever use it. Heck our cats enjoy it more than we do! lol But we do have a tub in the hallway bathroom and if we have company come over and stay, I do get on my knees to scrub it clean once the company is gone. I hate having to do that too because it hurts after a while.

I use a regular old broom and plenty of Comet to clean my tub.. I used to get down on my hands and knees but it is getting harder to do that now, so I "re-invented" my good old everyday broom and now as I clean the tub, I give my broom a good cleaning..

My special way is for my hubby or son to do it for me...lol. I do it sometimes, but not very often, because cleaning the tub is one chore that really leaves me hurting. I'm in enough pain as it is, so I don't add any that I can help.

It hurts my knees and when I get down there it is hard to get up. And I hate a dirty bath tub.

I actually do not scrub my tub after I take a shower. The shower gel I use rinses down everything, there is no soap scum or ring left. When I am done, I just rinse the tub with clear water, and I am done. My husband scrubs on his knees when he is done, he refuses to use the get that I use. I have not scrubbed my tub at all since living here, I just rinse and keep getting up.

hey chev,i don't think i've been in a tub for 50+ years a hot tub on vacation somewhere but i just couldn't get sitting in dirty water then taking a shower to get the dirt off after sitting in a tub.I remember when my kids were young we used a steam cleaner those 2 were into everything from cow poop to swinging into mud ponds

Hi Chevee, That is the good way of cleaning your bath, but you see I am a small person and when I bend to claen the bath it really hurst my back, you would think it would be a lot easier as I am small but nope, it hurts so I think I will go and see if I can get something like yours if they have it here. Hugs. Tamara

HI chevee~I have still not found any other way to scrub my tub except on my hands and knees and I hate doing it that way, but I have no choice! There doesn't seem to be any other way to get that "ring" off unless I use the scrub brush and some bleach and get on my hands and knees and scrub! It hurts my knees, but I have have no other choice. I have not been able to find any other way!

That's funny. Today I was cleaning my shower and was thinking about asking if anyone had any good ways to clean it. I think of all the things that have to be cleaned, I hate the shower the most. That sounds like a good idea for the tub. Have a good lotting day.

I still clean my tub the old-fashion way by scrubbing with a sponge. I have to get all the dirt out.

I like to fill the tub with bleach water and let it set like that for a couple of hours. That seems to make the grime easier to get cleaned, I know that doesnt help with the knees but it could take away from the amount of time you actually have to be on them. Maybe even purchase a cheap pair of knee pads, you can buy them relatively cheap at Wal-MArt.
