Hi, everyone. I graduated this year as a postgraduate. My parents want me to be a college teacher because they think it a more proper job for a girl. To be a college teacher is certainly a good job. But I prefer to be an office worker sometimes. Teaching seems boring to me. Now, i'm really confused. I don't know which one to choose. friends, please help me.

First thing first, congratulation on being graduated as a postgraduate. Which the better choice is completely depends on your preference. You don't want to do what you don't like. You want to do the job fitting you. So if you prefer to be an office worker, just take it. Apart from that, if I were in your situation, I think I will choose to be a college teacher. By teaching, we will have to learn time by time. The teaching itself is also a process of learning. I like to learn because it keep my mind active and optimized. Working in office usually makes us stuck in a routine work where there is no much chance for us to develop. Just in my opinion.

It's very kind of you to give me good advice. I'm grateful to that. Compared with being an office worker, I actually like to be a college teacher. Just like you, I also like to keep learning. I'll reconsider over this issue. thanks a lot for your kindness.

Hi Friend. Congrats for completing your post graduation!!It must have taken a lot of your time and hard work! Its often very confusing to select professions specially if you haven't done any professional course. In that case its best to follow your heart and select something hat you are really interested in.Because if you do not like your job, you'll get bored of it very soon. In your case, to be a teacher or a office worker-things that you have to keep in ind are the kind of work profile. A office worker mostly need to be in front of the computer 9-5 for 5-6 days a week. They also get very few days of leave in a year. As teacher, the flexibility is little more. But you need to be able to speak constantly and have the patience to repeat the same thing if required. But it gives you the opportunity to stay in touch with studies and books, which helps the studious kinds. The challenges faced by an office worker are a lot more than a teacher. Now its upto you to decide what kind of a person you are and which role will fit you better. Good Luck!!

Thanks shar. Your suggestions are of great help to me. I had been teaching ever since I started my postgratuate studies. Now, I've taught for three years, and I sometimes also find it boring because I have to repeat the same things every day. just as you said, to be a teacher gives me the opportunity to stay in touch with studies and books. In fact, I like studies and books very much. And I don't want to be in front of the computer for 5 days a week. Perhaps I should consider about being a teacher.

Hi friend! I think you should do what seems right for you. Parents want the best for us but sometimes we just want somethinf different. Besides that...if you decide to do something else later...you can always do it. You have your whole life to do the things that are right for you. There doesn't have to be limits or certain things that you have to do all the time. I think if you explain to your parents that you just want to do office work and the reasons behind it..they will come to understand. Take care and good luck.
