i don't know how to address my subject but what i mean is that if you are in a foreign country or if the people around you have a diffrent dialect would you still try to talk to them? specially if you are in a gathering that you need to socialize, how would you manage to talk or communicate with them? it's a problem of mine since i married a foreigner. his family can only speak their own language. i try to learn their language but i find it hard as i'm a slow learner with regards to languages particularly in speaking. so whenever i'm with them, i could really fell i'm an alien as no body can't talk to me. i know they wanted too but the language barrier hold them.

I would try to learn their language which should not be too difficult because we all need to communicate anyway so why not learn their language? I like learning new languages. Cheers!!

I am not bothered too much by language barriers, I just find no verbal ways to begin communications and usually pick up enough to hold my own. A little suggestion, stop listening with your ears.
