Up to now I'm so confused about coffee. some say it is good for the health but others say it is bad. Which is which? Do you think coffee is bad or good for the health?

I figure it in the respect that if it makes me feel bad, I don't drink it. If it doesn't change the way I feel I drink it. The experts come up with new things every day that is either good or bad for you, then they turn around a year later and change their minds. Sometimes I think it amounts to whether the experts are pissed at a certain item or not. One thing I will say is that when I have a bad asthma attack it does help ease the attack enormously. So I always have a pot of hot coffee handy.

According to Harvard Medical School, moderate consumption of coffee may be beneficial. It may reduce the risk of Type 2 diabetes, gallstones, colon cancer, liver damage in people at high risk to liver disease, and Parkinson's Disease. Coffee may also improve cognitive functions and endurance performance in physical activities. On the other hand, the caffeine can increase heart rate and blood pressure, as well as occasionally cause irregular heartbeat. They say the negative effects are seen with excessive coffee drinking, so moderation is the key. If anyone is an avid coffee drinker, like me, you might want to consider drinking a dark roasted coffee. It's not only more flavorful, but the darker the roast, the less caffeine is present.

As anything else,it's bad when consumed in large quantities or abused. I drink at last 5 cups every day and can say it's bad even though I can't live without it. Caffeine strains your heart and sometimes even I have that feeling of tiny needles on the left side. Not much to worry about but a fair warning.
