With the holiday come a lot of errands, visiting friends, delivering gifts, doing shopping chores, and attending Christmas gatherings, to name a few. Whether you commute with your own car or through a public vehicle. do your share in reducing your carbon foot print by making the most out of your gas mileage. Plan your trips in advance to avoid going in circles. Take note of all the places you need to go to and arrange them according to their proximity. Try to avoid the rush hour by scheduling your travel time or taking alternative routes. Do not forget to turn off your engine while waiting. You may also want to remove extra cargo in your car which adds weight to the vehicle. Reducing clutter in your car's interior and trunk will also reduce the fuel it will need to accelerate Do bring your Christmas shopping list for both gifts and foods ingredients with you as it lessens the chances of forgetting something. Maximize resources by buying as much as you can in one shopping trip. Remember that the fewer trips you make, the more gas you save. Happy Holiday.

With the title of your thread and the picture I had to run fast to this post and see what it was about!! Luckily, I do not have to travel far to work and I work part-time, about 28 hours a week max. Also, I have to be at work at 5am, and there aren't many people in these parts that do, so finding someone to carpool with would be difficult. That and the fact that I live in the most rural area in a secluded farmland with neighbors miles and miles from me! I'd be better off walking, I'd suppose! But it really is too far! With the recent rise in gas prices, though they have fallen dramatically, I have noticed people driving much slower and saving on fuel. I do hope that a great lesson has been learned by all. My husband was terrible before; having been born with a "silver spoon in his mouth" and with everything he ever needed, it is great to see him save and appreciate what our great Earth has given us. Thanks for a great post and for bringing this to the forefront of our minds, once again. We should not forget where we came from; I have a feeling we will be in the same boat once again very soon, with gas prices rising.

The first thing we should take into consideration is that, If we already learned how to save gas when the price is too much, we should continue this saving tips even the gas price down, so that we can still save more and more. But people doesn't care for this I guess, when the gas price down, they started to go many trips as they can.

This really is very good advice. I sold one of our cars recently as it was costing a lot to run. The gas prices here in the UK are really high and I tell my husband off all the time for taking the car out on unnessasary journeys. He would nip out to the shops and then come back and run my daughters to their friends homes. I always tell him to do this all in one go as it really does save on gas. I really am glad someone else thinks like me and has made a discussion about it all. Great advice and I hope people take heed of all you have written.

Yeah, this is really working great for me. That's why before we go out for shopping, I need to make sure that my wife list are all set and I keep on telling her to confirm how many place we need to go and if I find that the items she needs can be found in just one shopping mall, then I suggest it to her and she agreed mostly after taking into consideration the gas that we need to spend compare to the discount of the items from the mall.

Amen to that. I try to shop for everything all at once to save on gas. I also order things online and get free shipping also.
