My daughter is getting married within the next 6 months and I will not only gain a son, but also a grandchild. I am loving the idea, however, I can't be called "Grandma", "Nanny", "Mamaw", etc. I want a "cool" young name. I need lots of suggestions! Please help me with some ideas! Thanks!

Hi there Sue! Well, I don't know if you'll like it but my son calls my mom and my mother-in-law mommy. He calls me "nanay" a Tagalog word for mother.

That explains your screen name here! I love it, however, I am looking for something that doesn't resemble traditional grandmother names. And here in the States, it is too much like "Nana" or "Nanny". My mother-in-law is "Shiney". A perfect name for her. I am looking for something along those lines. Come on people I really need your help, this is VERY important to me :) Thanks for your response nanayangel. I wonder if they could call me "Angel"? A little presumptuous, don't you think? HA!

Well, if they call you "Angel", I'm sure that'll be different from everyone else. Good luck with your search. Thank you very much for the best response.

I am Nonnie.(Nawn-ee) My (now) 4 year old granddaughter started it and now her 2 year old brother calls me that as well. My husband is Poppy. I had wanted to be Nonna which means grandmother in Italian, but Jace had other ideas, and now I can't imagine anything different.
