Anyone else have House Guests over the holidays?

My sister-in-law & her kids just left this morning! What a relief to have my own home back! I do miss them but I think it would be easier if they stayed elsewhere or just moved back ;) Our house is just big enough for all of us but add 4 more people it's very cramped and even moreso with SIL + her kids lacking some basic common courtesy. Like when you are finished with your plate ect you put it in the sink or even wash it. These guys just plop it wherever and let someone else do the rest. They spent half time with the inlwas and the other half with us. I got to pick up their mess this morning and EEK! Lots of wrappers, blankets ect strewn about! Makes me mad that they don't know to pick up after themselves and my kids are half her kids age and when prompted do make some effort... but not those kids. So I'm breathing a sigh of relief that our house is our own once again & we can have "normal" bedtimes and the quiet I've missed so dearly! How were your houseguests?

If I were you, next time I'd make them clean upmore. just say things like "when you are done eating can you rinse that and put it in the sink?" That might get them to start being more respectful, you are not a hotel :( Luckily we don't have houseguests ever. Everyone I visit with lives within 10-15 minutes of us.
