If you could ask God 1 question and have it answered right away, what is it?

I'm probably sure that there will be a variety of responses to this question, but my one question would be to him in the Garden of Eden, after Eve and Adam had eaten of the forbidden tree of good and evil, that God kicked them out, and protected a different type of tree from ever being touched with swords and guards. My question would be what is the purpose for that tree? What about you? I'm sure even if you don't believe in God that there is a serious question that you would want to have an answer too, so what is it? Please don't post jokes or ask me a question instead. Thanks for your participation.

I'd ask him why I'm being forced to endure such a stressful & difficult life. I was never asked or given the option. I struggle to understand why we're stuck here on Earth dealing with all the evil thats should be HIS fight while he is nowhere to be seen?

No you never offended me, I appreciate the decent informative reply. It isn't that I blame God for my difficulties I just don't think it's fair, I'm tired of struggling & feeling ill all the time. & I know that there are people out there suffering a lot more than me & that breaks my heart, thats why I struggle to have faith in a God, I don't think suffering should be necessary. We're in 2009 & people are still hungry while other people have millions sat in the bank doing nothing. I'll end this now or I'll just ramble on, thanks for replying :)

That is in part our responsibility don't you think? To make sure that the people that don't believe in God or haven't been told of his goodness? If you everyone decided to introduce at least 1 new person per day, I believe everyone would have the opportunity to accept of reject Christ, and then he will finally come back to get us.

I'd like to introduce you to a different way of looking at your life that hopefully may allow you to experience a worry free day or worry free week, month, year, or even better life. When I was young growing up, we weren't rich, and I seen my mother sacrifice and not eat many days just so that I could as a child. I didn't know why she did it, but I just knew that she did. Well, as a child I didn't have to worry if I was going to eat on a particular day. I didn't have to be concerned that I wouldn't have clothes to wear. Somehow someway, my mom made sure I had those things, even if my choice was not to eat what had been prepared because I didn't like the taste of it (ungrateful, or selfish is a better term, I used to be). So I didn't have to worry about things as a child. When I became an adult, I gotten married had a few children and then I started worrying. All of the worrying I was doing was on my job, as I had gotten a high paying position on my job that had daily, weekly and monthly deadlines that had to be met. Although I had managed to meet each and everyone of my deadlines, I was killing myself with stress. I was stressing out because if I lost the high paying salary, I was thinking how was I ever going to live. I got the promotion in 2004. I started having chess pains in 2006 so much so that I had to go to the doctor for them. The doctor ran several tests, but could not find anything wrong with me, but I remember the first question he asked me. That question was "what do I do at work, and if I was experiencing any stress from it?" But of course, as a man, I was thinking that it couldn't be that, besides I had come to love the job that I was doing, it didn't bother me that I was spending 70 to 85 hours a week there. Hopefully you can see where I was going with that short story about my past. Let's talk about now. Well you know of course, several friends were trying to tell me that it didn't matter how much I loved doing a job or how well I was at doing a job, that if I wasn't alive to be able to do that job, all of my labor would be in vain. That is actually in the bible as well in the book of Proverbs. So after all of this, what was I going to do? I took a lower paying position, and that's when the finances started going down south. I was headed for a crash landing into I didn't have enough to pay all of my bills. So we started letting credit card bills get behind. My salary had been reduced by a 1/8 of what I accustom to making, this was in 2007. Next we had to let one of our vehicles go back to the dealer as we couldn't afford the house, two car notes, and all of the trimmings of supporting a household of 5. Then my mortgage note was coming up for an increase in payment, this was in mid 2008 by $300+. Well if you remember my salary had been reduced already, we had to let one vehicle go back. So, the only other logical thing to do was to look for another place to stay, as it didn't seem as if we were going to be able to stay where we were. Guess what though, as my salary had been reduced for a second time, this time by 1/3 of what I was previously making. That meant I could no longer afford to pay my current mortgage, much less one with the new payment increase. So we put our 4 bedroom home up for a short sale as we approached the end of the first month that we were not going to be able to pay our mortgage. We didn't pay the mortgage company anything since August 2008. We got the foreclosure notice that it would be foreclosed on Jan. 6th. We moved out November 15th. We received a buyer the same weekend we moved out. So the mortgage company will not foreclose after all. When we moved we were no longer able to afford our one vehicle that we had left. So it fell behind on payments starting in October. So as you can see I could worry about all of the things I lost or I could be thankful for what I do have. That is a place to stay a job that allows me to pay for all my present bills. I cannot allow the debt to cause any stress to get to me and start causing chess pains again. Now we don't have a vehicle to get around in, but we are a 10 minute walk from my job. A 15 minute walk to the supermarket. We can afford to take public transit as well. I don't know your story, you could have been born with a birth defect that causes you pain every day of your life. I don't know, but what I do know is there are a lot more people in the world that have worse lives than you and I. The other thing I know is that God loves you and wants his best for you. I don't blame God for the financial mess I made myself, but I do remain thankful for opportunity to start fresh and to get it right a second time over. I didn't say these things to make you upset, so I hope I didn't offend you. Thanks for your response, and just no God loves you and if you put your trust in him, and ask him for wisdom, I'm sure he will give you the answers you need in order for you not to have to live such a continued stressful difficult life.

Well, please don't take this as a joke, because I am very serious. I would ask God, How soon will it be before I have a husband and family. This is my lifelong dream and I would like to know.

I would ask god why when we go to the toilet for a number 2, why oh why does sweetcorn not digest? and nuts and hairs? I find these questions are on my mind all the time and god is not answering me at the church while I pray!

I'd ask him if he's real. For me it's about seeing it to believe it. It always has been and yes i am open minded to the possibilities. But that is the one question I would ask him.

I would like to ask God, that what is the purpose of my life. Why did you send me on this earth? There must be something which you want me to accomplish in my lifetime, or do some tasks. What should i do, to make my life meaningful, as you wanted me, to make it. Why was i born, what's the purpose of my life! Just this, nothing else!

I'll probably ask Him the most simple question of all. Why did you create me? And what is my purpose here on Earth?

That is a question, I have wondered myself, and believe that I'll eventually discover that, the reason I am here is to share my life as he did when he was here thousands of years ago. So that people can be introduced to him and make a decision to come back unto him and get to know him better; as well as do the same.

I would have to ask the meaning of life. We are given life and then we loose it and if we are simply "Born to Die" then what is the reason as there has to be a bigger plan. If we are as alot of people say, "Born to glorify God" then why must we be given these flesh clothes as they are only temporary and goes back to ashes and dust. Just let us be our true self which is spirit. If we continually come back into flesh to learn and learn and learn then the question to that would be why? What is the ultimate goal? Lots of questions and no answers so I will just have to wait to see God face to face! HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!!!

I think that i would ask him why he chose me to have such a hard life and why I could not have a day without worry, pain, no money , etc????? I would love to have one day without worry about how I am going to pay bills. I am 37 and have not had one day in my whole life without worries.

Wow, sweetpeasmom, I had typed up a very detailed response to your post yesterday and then my computer went on the fritz. So I'm going to try to keep my response short, direct and cut straight to the chase. Please note I am not trying to judge you, condemn you or ridicule you. There are only two questions I've wanted answers for since I was a kid. Once I get them then I think I'll be okay. 1) What happens after we die? Where do we go? 2) Who created you GOD? If you created us, then who created you and if that God created you, then who created him/her.. and so on Have a great night

Hmm.. I don't know what to ask, but then I would make sure, to ask one question if he/ she/ it would be visible or could communicate in some way. Then it would be only one thing, " why don't he just show himself and tell those stupid people that they stop fighting over a stupid thing called Religion??" I have noticed that all people say that God never asked them to fight over him, to kill other people over his word, then why do these people kill and murder each other in the name of religion? bourne

Well God has explained in his word that there would be killings, wars and rumors of wars in the bible. He explains how we are to give heed to his word and meditate in it day and night so that we can have good success. Everything comes full circle if you asked me. God also explains in his word that people cannot look upon him or else they perish. I don't know about you, but until we get our glorified bodies where we are restored back to the complete image of him who created us. I wouldn't want to look directly upon him. The people that are still doing the killing, etc... aren't necessarily doing it because of a religion that they believe in, rather because of the influences from the evil that has captured this world and spread like wildfire.

A Hindi film song comes to my mind. AASMAN MEIN HAI KHUDA, AUR ZAMIN PE HUM AAZ KAL WO IS TARAF DEKHTA HAI KUM A rough English translatin would be: God is in His heaven, we are here on earth These days, alas,He gives us a wide berth I will ask him, why is it so?( thanks to M.J.AKBAR )

If you have ever read a good book that describes exactly how the scenery, and makes you feel that you are actually in that place. Well the bible gives a great description of what heaven and hell are like.

I would ask him what is the one true religion. Coz if he will tell us what God he is (Christian God or Allah or Buddha, etc), all the people on Earth will be united and the wars will stop. If you've been observant, wars started coz of religion and faith.

I have noticed that the bible is continuing to come to life right before our eyes. The scriptures say that there are many wars and rumors of wars that will come as a sign that the end is near.

That's a REALLY good question. Why was it there if it wasn't to be used? Excellent. I think if I had one question, I'd ask if He (or She or It) really had a plan for humans that requires us to act in a certain way or if our divine right of free will allows us to do whatever we want without any kind of eternal damnation/salvation.
