It depends on your connection. Earlier, I used to have 144Kbps speed and this site used to take 2-5 minutes to open. It was really painful for me. Now a days, I am using 256kbps and it doesn't take long to surf on mylot now!

Yeah,it takes a while sometimes, especially if there's a lot of users online and MyLot is busy. I don't even bother opening up the Sortie, that takes the longest and so does the Interests page. I'm sure people that respond after me will add to that

I am on High Speed Internet myself and I even experience this problem from time to time where this site takes a lot longer to input something. It could be that at certain times there are a lot of people in here using the site at one time, and it takes the main server that holds this site a while to process everything. For me, what helps me from time to time, is to reboot my Computer, and then try it from there, or find a time where not so many people are posting in here, and try posting then. Welcome to myLot, and hope you will enjoy your time here.

It happens to me too. I use firefox as well and I have to refresh a lot and then wait for it to load...

I've not had any problems with the speed and often have several mylot pages open at the same time.

Internet connection speed and number of users logged in at the same time have been mentioned and I would like to add two points. 1) Other than your connection to your Internet service provider the connection between the provider and the rest of the world should be taken into account. This includes the total number of Internet users in your country. 2) Your computer may need to be uograded. Check that you should have sufficient RAM. For example Windows XP requires at least 512Mb of RAM to run, meaning to run smoothly would require at least 1Gb. Try using other browsers such as Avant, Chrome, Enigma, K-Meleon, or Opera. Generally Opera loads faster than Firefox. Chrome is fast. Avant and Enigma are lightweight versions of Internet Explorer. K-Meleon uses the same basic engine as Firefox. To download any of them go to download dot com and search for 'browser'. all the best, rosdimy
