No, it is not at all strange to have more than one e-mail account of three accounts. I have two main accounts, one is used for business matters and the another is being used for friends, mylot and any other such sites. It is always safe to have more than one e-mail account, you can categorise the mails and can check the same at your convenience.

I have more than three, and I keep then always maintained. I keep sure to login at them once in each thirty days. Because you need more accounts to keep going with different jobs and networks. Like yahoo or redif is not accepted everywhere, and somewhere only gmail gets accepted. Also you can receive mails in one account when your other account gets jammed with spams.

I actually have four email accounts. One account is for junk, one is for my church, one is for school, and the other one is for everything else. Although I'm trying to consolidate all these accounts to where I only have two accounts.

Hi ronnilynn! Sounds like a busy person like you needs a few accounts. Good luck in consolidating them. Are you finding it hard to maintain them all or just tired of bouncing between them? Thanks for responding.

I'm just tired of having to check four emails and it's time consuming.

two. One of them I check everyday probably more then once a day b/c all my important mail goes to that account and the other I check maybe once a week if that and most of the time I just delete everything in there lol. Nothing but junk anyway. I don't think any of my family or friends has that email address anyway.

I have 8 emails with me, from which i using daily one i.e. Yahoo mail. I daily using yahoo email, messenger etc. I using rediffmail in a month only and other mails where i need or remind. Actually in this busy life we want to have only One email id because we dont have time to check all mails, if you give different emails to different peoples, you cant remember which email id you give to whom, because of this you check all emails and waste your time only. So its better to have only one with big GB bites where you save all your important mails and documents.

I have 3 emails. I use each email for different purposes. Like I have a different emails for my Friendster account and I have a different emails for my private life. I don't want to mixed up my emails because sometime you can overlook on your other emails because there are so many emails receive in a day.

I don't find this even mildly strange. I have one for official business, one for less official stuff, one for my kinky contacts, and one which I don't use anymore and which was only opened as part of getting Yahoo messenger. Lash

The more responses I got to this discussion..the more email accounts I realized I had..lol..and don't really use that often if at all. I think the lady at work is fairly new to the internet. Thanks for the response.

I have 2 email accounts. One personal and one for work. I don't think it is unusual to have several email accounts if you are active internet user. I am sure most people have a least a couple of different email accounts

I was thinking at least two made sense. Maybe the woman at work isn't an active internet user and that's why she looked at me so strangly. Thanks for the response.

I totally have three e-mail accounts with two from gamil.com which is currently active, and one from tom.com which haven't used for a long time. Don't know whether it has been cancelled or terminated. I think gmail is an excellent e-mail provider, I like very much as soon as I tried it for the first time. It is more user-friendly in terms of its interface and quicker to load. Everything on its pages is kept in good order. Very comfortable to use it.

The initial thought that came to mind was “too many” but then I thought about it and realised that each one serves a specific purpose and so could be considered to be essential. The first and second ones are shared with my partner rather than have separate ones. One of them is for all our business correspondence, research etc and in fact anything at all which relates to our organic farmlet and what we produce on it. The second one is specifically for family and only members of our family have that email address. A third for friends, and is usally filled with jokes etc and sometimes news too of course. The fourth is for myLot and surveys and finally a 5th which is for competitions or contests and free stuff. That last one is the one that also has the HUGE MAGNET which gathers up all those “junk”, “spam” and “phishing” emails. The first and second email addresses are those from our ISP and the others are free emails addresses. My partner shares the first 2 with me or should I say that the email address has both our names on it and we never get any spam emails through either of those addresses. Once I would have said that having that many email addresses was a waste of time and effort but as time has gone on, I have found that they are necessary. We think it is important to have a separate email address and one from our IP for business purposes as it is more professional. The little things like entering a competition or contest will nearly always bring a whole swag of junk emails and I do not want to be sorting through them to find the ones that are important to me. This is more so if we are expecting an email with say photos of our grandchildren or a contract for fruit or vegetables for a customer. The later I want to check and if okay print off in a hurry so that it can be signed and returned - never delay in signing a good contract. lol And to think that not to many years ago all this sort of stuff was done through the post, except for the junk of corse which has a life of its own!

Hi oldboy! Hope your trip went well. You are back aren't you? It is amazing that all this stuff used to be handeled by post. Email as definately opened up a whole new world. Sure makes it whole lot easier than chasing down a stamp everytime you need to send a letter. I think multiple emails make alot sense for most people and the more ventures they have going on..the more they probably need. Thanks for responding.

Hi jen ,I have two and use one the most and the other was made to be able to vote more often on certain sites. Now I see on yahoo I think you can make one just to use if you need an email for something and are afraid of getting junk mail/spam,like for money making sites, which is a good idea,so that will be my third if I need one.

I have two email accounts, one is gmail the other hotmail. My gmail account is for junks and currently it is stuffed with junk mails. My hotmail is my main account and important emails go there. It is not strange for you to have three accounts. In fact you're pretty neat in separating your emails.
