For home you can use Hp. Because it is the Laptop mainly based for home use and it doesn't not have that feature that should be there when a business peoples is there. It is normal as ordinary brand. And if you want class and style when used during home times is sony vaio because it has the stylish view and it has better performance than hp but according to me vaio is not used for home pupose. It is used for Office and Business purpose because it provides that facilities so that this laptop is produced For business class purpose

If you do not want it for gaming or video, or graphics intensive stuff, but rather only for downloading, general internet and word processing, then it doesn't really matter that much what you get. You can get something from a generally trusted company (Dell, HP, etc.), and you should be fine. Since you want to do a bit of downloading, it is important that you find one that had a pretty large hard drive, or else you could just by an external hard drive to go with the computer. Since it is just for home use, there is no need to get the really small and light ones. They generally cost more just for being smaller. That is fine if you will be carrying it around everywhere, but it doesn't make much difference if it is just at home.

When the talk about Laptop arises - It is always Dell is the best. Go for any model which costs you around Rs. 30,000/-. I am sure it won't disappoint you.

I have a cheap Compaq laptop which I use at home. It's designed for vista but I downgraded to xp since I want to put my laptops memory to better use. If you're industrious enough to look for drivers that will work with xp, the laptops pretty okey. If you're not that good with installing drivers, better stick to vista for it's os. have a good one.

I have a DELL Inspiron B130. It is on the cheaper end of the selection at DELL.com, but it does what I need it to do. It is reliable, fairly lightweight, and pretty simple to use.
