If something seams to good to be true, would you still do it?

I listen to fincial news all day long and they talk about the Bernie Madoff scam all day long. Once I heard about this, I couldn't believe that people would give this guy money, but when the list was released there were many intelligent people on this list. Which leads me to my question: If someone offered you something to good to be true, would you give them money? And why do you think some of these people did do this?

depends. if it involves me paying money, no. if not then sure i'll go for it. even if it is too good to be true, it could still be worth it, in some way.

Well that guy is getting away with a lot of money stealing and should be doing anything except sitting on his at at home on house arrest.
