how long do you stay on hold for before you hang up, or do you wait it out. i'm so impatient and hate being put on hold. it's it's someone i know i hang up and they can call me back when they get a chance. but for business things after about 15 minutes i start getting annoyed and hang up

Hi poppoppop, oooooooooh I hate being put on hold for more then a minute or two. But like others it depends on the call. If a friend puts me on hold to take another call for more then a minute, I hang up and they will normally call right back with apologies. Now a business or dr. office is a different senario, if I want to make an appointment I wait about 5 mins. before hanging up and trying again. To check on an order etc. I will wait it out for about 10-12mins. the problem with this is I have usually escalated from frustrated, to angry, to total irritated and disgusted and if I don't get off everyone will be sorry!!! LOL! I always say "know your limitations" and choose your battles. When it gets to that point, I usually have to wait a while to try again, less I let the poor operator taking the call gets an earful about what I think of their company and customer service. Happy Posting !!!! be happy, be joyful, be safe, be strong! oohcute2340

I hate being on hold but I normally put my phone on speaker and go about my other business and wait to be connected. That is the good thing about multitasking. Not much you can do if you need to talk with someone at a company about a certain issue even though it is very annoying and aggravating.

It depends on why I am calling. If I really need to talk to someone or a business I will hold for a very long time, but I will also let them know how long I was on hold for when they pick up. If it's not very important, I will only hold for a few minutes and try again later.

Hi there, I usually am stubborn enough to wait them out. Especially, if as you said, I have already put in 15 or 20 minutes. I would suggest you get yourself a speakerphone, and put your phone on speakerphone while you're on hold, and then you can move around and do other things while waiting. For instance, I have a phone on my computer desk, and while I'm waiting on hold, I can answer a few Mylot discussions. Just remember to pay attention, and pick up the speakerphone, when they finally come back on the line. There have been several times, that I have gotten caught up in other activities only to hear, hello? Hello? Hello! Good luck to you and happy Mylotting!
