I love cats i have around 6 cats running around the house and sleeping anywhere. Even though i have asthma and I am allergic to something furry, i still cuddle and play with them a lot. But i have noticed one of my cats coughing, i though he just ate something, so i checked and there's nothing there. maybe just a hiccup or something. But now coughs like twice or 3tmes a day. I am worried about him since he is old, can you help me?

Has it been cold in your area? Have you had fog or a lot of moisture in the air? I have a Maine Koon cat that will hurk or cough several times during the night or day depending on the weather. It's a given if there is rain or fog he will cough more. Also if the house gets cold he'll cough. Do take your gentleman to the vet. It doesn't hurt to get it checked. It could be as simple as what I mentioned or a allergy to something. But with cats they get very sick very fast. I went through my Ole Lady Siamese, Murphy having a UTI. As the vet told me if I had waited for two days to bring her in the day after New Years she would have been too far gone. With cats you don't mess around waiting for things to get better. I have asthma too, and have four inside cats and four dogs. Plus 5 outside cats that I take care of...and if the doctors were to tell me to get rid of them it would be the doctor to go! Take care of those cats and give them a hug for me.

Thank you for the BR! It makes me feel soooo good when I earn one. It's kind of funny in a been there done that way, I had to take Willy, one of my flame point Siamese to the vet on Tuesday. (He's the brother of Khuay, the cat in my avatar) He has a UTI this time. Gee I wish that the medical bills for our furry kids were tax deductible! Another $158 went out for treatment. The doctor said to change the cats to wet food only...yeah right! I put out canned cat food and they looked at it and tried to bury it! I guess I'm going to have to get some chicken livers and stuff and do my own. They will still get the dry as it balances their diet somewhat, but I also will have to bring in greens for them too. Used to be that animals were really sturdy, wonder what happened to those days?

I think that cat is sick winieann, you should call a vet or something to know what is wrong with your cat. You said he is old so maybe he got sickly and needed to be check up by a doctor. I do hope he gets well. I love cats myself I fine them adorable and lovable too.
