I quite like pear juice but I don't eat pears very often. I don't like gooseberries at all. I am a picky eater and I have preferences for some things not others. I love to eat strawberries, raspberries, pineapples, passion fruit, banana, cherries and grapefruits. I hate tomatoes as much as you hate pears I think.

Oh my gosh. I love pears. I can eat them at any time of the year. I never get tired of them. I love all kinds of fruit.

I like pears, but I can understand your take on the, the "grit" in them does kind of bother me too. I just love the flavor so much I will put up with them.
I, on the other hand, don't like and can't eat bananas and can't eat grapes. Both of them are related to food allergies.

manya_pearl,
I think I can understand the texture issue here, and it is really a pity that it has affected your enjoyment for them. I find the Emperor pears a much sweeter and tastier kind than the others.
I do not know if blending them with icing sugar to make sorbets might make you have a different opinion about them and thus letting you enjoy the fruit. It is a good thirst quencher and a relief for coughs.
Have a go and a nice day ahead.
