The best and quickest way is to install the operating system from recovery CD's set. This will write over all files and the system will be back to new factory

Hey, The quickest and easiest way is to firstly format your hard drive, and then you need to install the operating system again. Then it will be in top condition for selling since it will run much faster. Hope this helps and happy Lotting!

If you have an OS now, just full format all the drives from windows(except the OS'd drive) and then boot from Windows Installation CD and format the OS's drive. For full format from command promt do "format y:" y is the drive you want to format. If you use a /q switch(i.e. format y: /q), it will do a quick format but it is not recommended if you are selling off your notebook.

your operating system disc will format the hard drive for you if you reload it. you will need the discs for all the secondary programs, such as DVD decoder, excel, media players, office programs, etc. simply reload all after windows is reinstalled. IMPORTANT you may need drivers for hardware that didn't come with your computer.
