In a DOWN World, I'll BEAT My BEST? YES or Yes Again?

Many are challenged in today's economic crisis. Are you still up in beating your best performances amidst this downfall? "Even if I knew tomorrow would go to pieces, I would still plant my apple seed." - Croft Pentz Yes, from the time I was made aware that I am wonderfully created and formed, I promised - - I will BEAT MY BEST amidst any rise or downfall! It's the first month of 2009 - - it makes me busy setting up goals and planning to hit those goals. What do I feel? I'm excited because it's another opportunity to sell, share, & show my ideas, explore my own field of expertise, and learn from this vast, abundant, and unlimited universe. Do I need to set up goals? Why not? I had my best to beat so I am challenging myself! I remember one great guru who said, "I am never in competition to others but to myself." What about personal Goals? My family, friends, colleagues, and contacts remind me of what I am worthy of giving to myself. Each of us is worthy of receiving what we are worth for. Where we use up our unique energy and how high did we expand to exercise its use. So, what am I worthy of having this year? If money is no problem, what should I have? So, what should you have, too? What about professional goals? I have second doubts declaring because I don't want to set up my health or my precious times - - isn't these excuses? Let me add the widening economic crisis, what does this tell me? Should I excuse myself? I teach my team that our company started at the height of a financial depression and let me remind myself again that business pursuits are on its highest potential at any time. What now? I am saying, circumstances really doesn't matter, ATTITUDE does! What are my Key Performance Indicators? Being a sales leader, I have set that I need to beat my best with 30% growth this year. I ask myself again, is this my worth? It's measurable and attainable yet highly heart pumping and challenging. 30% growth (based from my two previous highly performed years whichever is higher) in terms of Sales, Team Member Additions, Activity Rate of all my sales representatives, & Collection Efficiency Rating. What about you? Let us write them down and plan ahead because a month unwisely spent is like yesterday wasted. January is not February and so is March and so on.. We are given ample 12 months each year - - when we start with the right energy, surely, we will finish early - - happy & contented! To you & me, "May the best of our 2008 be the worst of our 2009!!! - Ziglar" Let's allow the universe to work with us NOW!

Crisis like the present one form part of our existence.Worrying over it would only worsen things.Finding out ways and means to overcome the present crunch that has gripped the whole world is the important factor of the hour.

a big yes on this one, sukumar. this is the right kind of attitude that everyone should have. this economic crisis is never that frightening if we will only keep on finding ways and meand to cope with the situation. for as long as the sun keeps on shining, the rains keep on coming and the world keeps on turning, there is no reason at all for us to lose hope.

Hi jeanniemay! It has been a long time since I caught up with you here. I am glad I read this discussion of yours. It is very encouraging and full of optimism. I do like the positivity in this topic. I have heard so much about the economic downfall and tougher times will be all over 2009 as reported by so many newspapers, economists and learned people. I rely on God, opportunities and myself. I accept the challenge I also set up for myself. I am up for it this year than I have ever felt before. May we all have a better 2009 and overcome all the challenges in our lives. Take care and have a nice day! God bless you my young friend! lovelots..faith210

the economic crisis that has been watched warily by so many did not affect my family that much. since i am now mostly involved with farm work, the economic crisis is hardly felt there. on the contrary, it seems like life is on the upping rather than going down. the demand for farm products has gone up and thus, the buying prices for our products has also gone up dramatically at that. although i see that the thngs that i buy at the market and the supermarkets are coming with marked up prices, i found them to be still affordable. by now, we are furthering the developments of the farm. i see no excuses for not doing so. everything's just going fine for us. it is only proper and fitting that i keep on moving on. feed the world! the population has gone fast, taking up more in numbers like crazy. good luck in your work, jeanniemay.

Wow! You are doing a great job Trinidadvelasco! I agree with you, their are a number to feed so let's keep moving on. I also have to further my cause, we have a number teach and train how to do business on their own. Big Luck and best luck in your farm.. yes, we need more producers today! Cheers, JNY

I totally agree. We should never let reports about the world economy make us feel negative and unhappy. Chances and opportunities in life are like flowers that suddenly come into bloom. Some of them are rare, so you need to look for them and to recognize them when you see them, others are all around, all the time, you just need to notice them.

I love your way of thinking, I agree with you, we can't let things get us down or we will all go down, I think we have to say to our selves that we can do it, try a little harder and think positive and we will make it, I hope people catch your enthusiasm...
