Do you have appraisal at your company? Every year, we will have to submit a log sheet to our section. Then he will grade us and follow by a meet up, which is one to one. In the meet up, you can talk about anything related to your work. For example: your working environment, complaints, request, challenges, future and etc. How is it in your company?

We have our appraisal once every year. However every 6 months we have our performance tracking period were how we have have performed during the last 6 months are evaluated and we get our remuneration according to that. It is a component added to our salary slip. Its one way of avoiding attrition where you get a chunk of your salary's component after a certain period , six months in our case. Even during this evaluation we have a personal meeting with our bosses who discusses as to what ratings were given to us and why. A similar procedure is followed for annual appraisals.

I was given an appraisal form to complete just the other day. It asks me how my dad-to-day job matches my original job description; what I think has gone well/badly over the past year; what I consider to be my strengths/weaknesses and whether i would like to change my work patterns. At some point I will get to discuss it with the assistant manager.
