I have just finished reading Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts. I got caught up in it and recommend it highly. It is a big book and I was intimidated by it until I read the first page. I was hooked by the end of page one and nine-hundred pages later I found myself wishing for more. For a good holiday read I can think of nothing better.

it all depends on your interests....just let me know the type of books you like reading, authors you like, or, whether you are a beginner.....and I'll suggest you a good one... :-)

It's hard to blindly suggest a book to someone, when we don't know what your interest are. Do you want to read fiction or non-fiction? What genre are you into: thrillers, suspense, romance, etc.? Maybe you can mention books that you read before and enjoyed. That can help us see what kind of books you enjoy. As a reader, I believe in pairing a book with the person who will read it. Suggesting a book that is not of particular interest to the reader will only lead to frustration to the one trying to read and an unread book at the end.
