Then Jesus told His disciples... that they should always pray and not give up. (Luke 18:1) prayers that uses previously unanswered prayers as an excuse for laziness has already ceased to be a prayer of faith. to someone who prays in faith, unanswered prayers are simply the evidence that the answer is much closer. from beginning to the end, our Lord's lessons and examples teach us that prayer that is not steadfast and persistent, not revived and refreshed, and does not gather strength fro previous prayers is not the prayer that will triumph. Arthur Rubinstein, the great pianist, once said, "if i neglect practicing one day, i notice; two days, my friends notice; three days, the public notices." it is the old principle "Practice makes perfect." we must continue believing, praying and doing His will. in any of the arts, when the artist ceases to practice, we know the result. it we would only use the same level of common sense in our faith that we use in our everyday life, we would be moving on toward perfection. David Livingstone's motto was, "I resolved never to stop until i had come to the goal and achieved my purpose." He was victorious through unwavering persistence and faith in God. _streams in the dessert

hi jing...prayer and faith must go hand in hand. and God certainly hears every prayer so when it is something in His will then He does always answer. He just does things that we can't see. that is why faith is so important. faith pleases Him and when we pray according to His will He hears and answers. sometimes it's not the answer we want. or as soon as we want. but we are to pray and leave it in His hands and believe Him for the wonders that He is doing. He is a wonder working God who never neglects His children. He cares for everyone including those who don't believe. and He even helps those who don't believe whether they know it or not. whether they believe it or not.

thank you. but i guess you have it wrong there. God is in wrath to those who don't believe in HIm. i saw it in a passage in the Bible. if i will see it later, i will share to you.. no once can come to the Father, except through Jesus. so if people or persons do not know Jesus, then he will not be able to gain His favor and His guidance.. hmmm. let us share some time..

Prayer keeps us close to God. Prayer in tongues is the perfect prayer. That is my belief.

I don't really understand praying in tongues. I've never seen anyone do it. Also, I consider myself fairly close to God, and I don't pray in tongues. So it doesn't seem essential to ME. But then again, it has been said that there are many paths to the same Destination.

These are just random thougts of a sleep deprived mother so if they don't make any sense I'm sorry!! I believe that prayer should be as natural as breathing, something that we do wherever we are and what ever else we are doing. My favorite time to pray and think things through is when I'm washing the dishes!!! I think this has come about because as child and teen I would often talk things through with my Mom while we washed the dishes, just seems like a natural extention that I now talk to my Heavenly Father at that time. I also feel that prayers don't have formal or using words that we wouldn't use day to day. I have been known to yell at God sometimes, feeling angry at the what I perceved to be unjust treatment I was recieving at the hands of my rather spiteful batty MIL, I have spent the past few months telling God that I couldn't take any more and how dare He take my Mom and leave this MIL to make my life miserable, but God is always good, He has managed to take the pain from my heart and help heal me. I think if I wasn't honest in my prayers then this healing would never happen!! Be strong in faith and keep praying, the answers come, unfortually what we want and what God wants for us can be so different!!! Jacks

Prayers are nothing more than desires and desires do come true. The creative aspect of the universe is desire and sometimes it takes time for desire to happen. Strong desires like a fervent prayer happens faster when the universe feels the urgency. Cheers!!

i don't take your point there. prayers are the desires that needs to be submitted before the Lord in order for it to be possible. on our own, we cannot just have it our way and ways.. it is not easy and yet we have this desires.. but thank you for responding..

Okay, I"m not sure what the point of your whole discussion is, but I do believe that prayers are answered but we don't always see it.
