I like to cook and when my honey cooks it drives me nuts because he don't like me being in the kitchen when he's cooking.. I have a bad habit of picking at the food as I'm cooking it I can't help it. So when he's cooking I try to sneak in there to pick at stuff. But I get yelled at "Get out of my Kitchen" Does your honey kick you out when he or she is cooking?

It only bothers me because our kitchen is on the small side. I hate having someone underfoot. Now if they were slicing, dicing, mixing, helping in any way, of course they would be welcome. This discussion made me laugh, though, because you brought back memories of my youth. My mom didn't allow people in "her" kitchen when she was cooking. So if she was in the kitchen, stay out! Now what made this really bad was we only had one bathroom and you know where the bathroom was? Of course, on the other side of the kitchen. The only way to the bathroom was straight through the off limits kitchen. "But I really have to go...." LOL, the good ol' days.

Everyone is welcome to cook in my kitchen if they are so inclined. Me? I am more at home on the dining table, waiting to savor the creative culinary inventions that my wife and kids come up with when they cook. Cheers!!

I used to look over my mother's shoulder when she was cooking. and memorize the recipe for my favorite meals (mashed potatoes, crepes, gefilte fish, etc.), When I asked her if I could help, she'd snap, "Yeah, get out of my kitchen." Then she got stricken with a stroke, that was the end of her cooking days. My husband does not do too much cooking. He burnt the pot making popcorn (made it in the wrong pot) and both of us had to scrub it but the pot is basically ruined. My Dad used to be a chef in the Army. He taught me about cuts of meat, and whatever else I needed to know. When I worked, he made the supper. Now that I'm retired and he's in ill health, I do all the cooking. During the week, unless it's a holiday or a special occasion, I use the frozen dinners. Weekends are for real meals. Once a month, we all go out to eat dinner.

I like the frozen meals for work. Just pop them in the microwave and eat.

everybody at home is welcomed in the kitchen....my father is more than happy if one of us like to be assigned in the kitchen..well in your situation missybear..try to cut out your habits like picking up foods while the food is not yet served because it is not good..i mean to say, well you'll not get surprised anymore one's the food is ready to serve in the table because prior to that you have tasted it already...

I just can't help it. When I cook I eat a lot of food before it's done. So I'm pretty full when it comes time to eat.

When my partner is cooking it seems like I'm not always allowed in the kitchen. I'm told that they would like help when it comes to cooking and food preparation but sometimes when I help I'm kind of shooed away and made to feel like I'm not wanted so I tend to try and not get too involved in cooking when she is sometimes.

Your honey must be a good cook. When I am cooking I like to do it alone. The helper will prepare everything and ask her to leave before I start cooking. This way it help me to concentrate while cooking.

Hey missy! Don't feel bad! My honey does that too! The only difference is he can't cook! He is only boiling hot dogs or making eggs or soup! lol But, he doesn't want me in the kitchen because I tell him that the flame is too high or correct him and I make him nervous so he doesn't like me in the kitchen when he is "cooking"!
