Short-version After watching Michael Moores"Sicko"for the first time.I came to grips with two-truths one the shame of being an american. Before Moore,at 13,14 I figured the powers that be feed us propaganda about other countries mostly impart they envied them.Building a unified front of fear to the people of the U.S.,it works presently well still this day and time. All to say this,I understand to an extent why countries as Paris,London naming afew show mild disdain for our government compared to their middle-eastern counterparts.Arrogance of being a rich super-powered country, yeah right well I'm not rich. You would think congress learn from the black-eye the country got from lack of support of it's citizens during "Katrina"but no in the U.S.it's about money/status.Second truth after being homeless from a lay-off on my job 2 1/2years last year returning to work after life threatening appendix surgery. If I hadn't pick my writing, drawing back up I'd probally still be.I count my blessings daily but though I'm getting on my feet like millions of americans I can't afford healthcare. The co-pay isn't all it's made up to be there's no discount the medicines just as expensive as the hospital visit.Yet seeing the countries I spoke of earlier get it regardless if they can make payments or status!.It makes me angry to see and know this from Michaels dvd.Doesn't it make you?.That we're taxed for everything and the money doesn't go to us that need it.Congress and large companies benefit pocketing it and getting billion-dollar bail-outs! that they Madoff with get it?.

Canada has had Federal Health Care since 1984. Many Americans say its too expensive and it would make their Taxes higher. Yes we do pay more tax, but the health Care is wonderful to have. No one in Canada loses everything, including their Savings and Home because a Family member got sick. Every Canadian living in Canada is completely covered and its entirely free. Canadians love Our Health Care!

Thanks for replying, you learn something everyday.Would you talk indepth the amount you Canadians pay for the healthcare you get.Honestly I don't know the figures that your associates or citizens generally spoke in the u.s. stating the cost would make their taxes higher. In their hindsight as long as it's open to all regardless of circumstances, should be the bottomline!.Again with all the taxes we pay here too!,there should be not a trillion dollar or any debts!.It's clear where the money goes that's been exposed!.Our citizens need to find a unified way to impact our government so they quit manipulating our resources financially. But as long as they pocket our money they'll just cripple us more as a country.

We have a special tax on almost everything we buy. It was 15%, but its currently 13%.Its called a Goods and Service Tax. It does not apply to food, but is charged on Restaurant meals. The tax is not popular, but the Health Care definitely is. I have American friends who gamble with their health. They pay no Health Insurance. If either of them gets seriously ill, they stand to lose everything they have. This would keep me up at night, and ruin my sleep in the daytime. No thanks, I'll pay the Tax!

13% for a goods and service tax,I agree it's a small discomfort compared to one getting the immediate healthcare they need.
