I am about to go greener! I do recycle but I have to admit I still use plastic at the grocery store! I always feel like such a loser! I just moved from Atlanta to Boston and EVERYONE uses them here and I am making the change ASAP. SO if you use them do you like them? where did you get them? How long have you been using them? Thanks

I love them personally...I really do. I have probably about 10 of them, when I see them in stores --which ever one I am in at that moment and I see them...I always buy one...they are usually 99cents here and I try to always keep 3 in my car incase I need them. I also use them for my sons school whenever he needs to take things in..like his snack day...or if I have to take things to my moms or an aunts house...they are wonderful.

Yes, I use re-useable bags when grocery shopping, and have done now for the past two years. I like using them - they are stronger than plastic, so I don't worry about them splitting, and I feel good knowing that I'm helping the environment by not using the plastic ones. When I first started using them, I would forget to take them with me when I went shopping, but I made myself get into the habit of always keeping them in the car, ready for use! I will never use plastic again, and hope that very soon they will be a thing of the past for all of us.

I forgot to mention that you can usually buy them in any supermarket for about a dollar.

Yes we always use the reusable shopping bags whenever me and my mom shops. We always bring them whenever we go to the grocery or to the department store. We started using them last year because most of the malls now require these bags instead of plastics.

Hi there Sharon. I must say that this is a problem of the day topic in my country. Romania has been forced by the European Union to stop giving free plastic bags to people (in supermarkets for example) and instead to sell re-usable bags at low prices, in order to preserve the environment.

In china, from June 1, 2008, plastic bags were no more provided for free. Instead, re-usable bags are sold at RMB 3 each. Ever since, people use such bags when going shopping. I like these bags, they are light, soft, foldable. They can be put inside a lady's bag. After use, they can be washed. The only problem is they easily get scratched by sharp stuff because of loose fiber texture.

Yes, we use our reusable bags whenever we go to the supermarket on weekends. I got them for free at our local supermarket. It is our way of helping save Mother Earth. But sometimes, when I buy things unexpectedly on weekdays, I usually end up bringing home plastic bags. Unfortunately using reusable bags is not yet that popular in my country. Most people specially those purchasing from retails stores still use plastic bags Although there is a program initiated by the biggest retail store in my country about consumers using recyclable bags when they shop. And they have Wednesdays declared as green bag day, where consumers will pay for plastic bags that they will use for their purchases. The money collected for these would be used for their environmental programs. I think this is a good program. If only it can be implemented in the whole world, our world will be a much better place to live in.
