Would you wish to style it a different way? How long has youer hair been the way you have it now? As for me my hair is light brown with silver in it in places. Mine is very long to the middle or bottom of my butt. My "bangs" are down to my breast. My hair is natural curly and it's frustrating to me and for me. I'd like for it to be not curly but wavy. Not totally straiht but most of it yes. I'd like it to be straight all but the ends to curve under in a nice medium wave. My hair has been long for almost 30 years. When I was pregnant the last time I cut my hair. It just seemed easier to care for. It was long about midway down my back, below the bra strap. I cut it to my shoulders and used a curling iron and a round brush to make it straight but turn under on the ends. I had bangs to my eyes and turned them under too. I'd like to change my color and hair a blonde, dish water blonde like it use to be until I stopped going outside so much. The sun kept it a light color. I'd like to be bold like my mother and daughter and make my hair black or a dark color, lol. I am very light compleded since I stay in all of the time. I'm very pale many times as I am sick a lot. So I don't know how the dark hair would look on me. I've even thought about cutting it but am seriously against this. Now my friends tell me about your hair. The way it is and how you might like it to be. Share your thoughts and wants with me. Thank you so much for responding and sharing.

Since your are pale skinned the dark hair may give you a Gothic look. Which isn't a bad thing. Just depends on what you're into. My hair, like yours is very long. All the same length, down to my butt. It is the dishwater blond that you mention and poker straight. I do not use any blow dryers or curling irons. My hair has been like this for about 20 years. My hair is not as light as it usually is for the same reasons as you. I am inside for too long and not in the sunshine enough. I would not want to cut my hair into a different style but do have it trimmed regularly. I wear it in different ways, pony tails, barrettes and braids. Sometimes I just wind it all up and clip it to the top back of my head. I would like to have my hair put in corn braids. I have also dabbled with the idea of lightening my hair IF I could find a color treatment that washes out. I will not put peroxide on my hair. Thank you for this discussion.

You are very welcome, thank you for your comment. I know a woman with a very light complexion. She has long hair and she dyes it black. It looks Good! Dying the top and not the bottom is a bit different but then who says we can't be different, right? I like to let my hair dry naturally too. Good luck to you what ever you decide.

I don't use anything with heat on my hair anymore either I haven't for 10 years or so. I just let it dry naturally. I don't mind the gothis look at all in fact I like it alot. I'm just sick a lot and having that dark of hair wouldmake me look worse than I already do when I'm sick, at leasr that's my point of view and way of thinking about that. I really agree with you. It's just that at times not that many I do think "what if I did this or that" I've though to about just coloring the top half of my hair and leaving hte rest as it is. Weird huh? I won't use peroxide either. Having something that would wash out would be nice that way it's not permanent. Thank you for sharing with me.

I have very long hair as well. All of my hair is the same length. It is a natural brown with differnt highlights in it. I do however dye it red. I really like my hair red and since it is a color that is naturally in my hair then it does not look terrible. I have had my hair long for the majority of my life and I do not forsee me cutting it anytime soon. I have been dying my hair now for about the last 8 years which I will continue doing. There was once though when I was a teenager that I dyed it black and I think that I looked horrible so I will not do that again.

Hi moondancer,,I wish I had more hair (lol)Due to illness my hair is getting thinner and thinner.I dye my hair because it is almost completely white. My sister said that my complexion is too pale for white hair.I wear it short because it bothers me when it gets long.It doesn't grow too much now.

Mine grows slower than a turtle crawls, lol. I also lost much of my hair due to medicine. I was almost bald. I had most of my head without any hair. Then I quit the medicine and it finally started coming back agai. It's still really thin. I don't think I'll have anymore coming back since that was over 3 years ago it all came out. I want mine long as I never was allowed to have it long when I was a child and I wanted it long so badly. Thank you for your response mc.

The picture of you shows that you have beautiful hair. I'm sure on road trips it gets a bit messy. I remember mine getting all tagled unless I braided it when going on the bike. Have fun. Thank you for sharing.

I stick to black hair color. During my younger days I have a long hair but have it shortened when I got married and till todate. The feed back is I look younger with my short hair. I don't have my hair colored nor have it straight, it's natural thus at my age of 53 I don't have white hair yet. Others are using dye already but me not applicable yet. I love my black, short hair.

As long as you are happy with it that is all that counts, right? These younger ones will do it to satisfy another even if it's not what they want. I say do what you want and when you are wanting to do what the other person wants then do it. I love having long hair. I too have been told I look younger with it shorter. But I have this thing about wanting my hair long. Thank you for sharing.

I havent seen my natural hair color since I was in 6th grade and Im now 22. I went to beauty school so Im always changing my hairstlye and color. Im trying to grow it out right now so I havent cut it since may last year. Im getting married this june so thats wy im letting it grow. Right now its a dark brown and not quit half way down my back. Im going to color it back to a lighter brown and probably put some highlights or lowlights in it for the wedding. Im planning on cutting it after the wedding but probably only to my shoulders if that and add some side swiped bangs.

Hi moondancer. I do like a long curly hair on a woman. It makes a woman more femminine. However I would take heed of the hairdesser's advice. I would leave my hair the natural colour it is. Even if women would like to change their style every now and then. If you are not in a position to take good care of you hair than do consider to shorten it a bit. However if you can do leave it long. Most men like long hair on a woman. (c) ronaldinu 2009

I totally understand as mine is natural curly and it looks many times like I haven't even brushed it. It tangles around itself all of the time. If you wet it and brush or comb it then I am fine. It will be okay and stay the way I fix it. But try brushing or combing it dry and there it goes. I look like I put my hand in the light socket...lol Mine is also baby fine in texture, making staying power, a no show. Thank you for sharing.

Well first of all I have kept my hair long, for ages...think in retaliation from my childhood for when my mother used to cut my hair so super short I looked like a boy..LOL..to add insult to injury she would put tight pincurls to make my hair real curly....when she was a kid Shirley Temple was in vogue, so all moms would make their girls try to look like her including my grandmother (my mother's mother)----anyway think she was aiming for the Shirley Temple look for me but wound up looking more like Harpo Marx I might trim my hair from time to time, but it's pretty long, near waist length...and mostly a darkish brown..I'm DYING to dye my hair though...I did for years the darkest brown possible, darker than my own natural shade...thing is the very last two times I did dye it I had such an allergic reaction to it for some weird reason....my scalp got all blistery and itchy...yikes I wanted to just scalp myself...don't know why I reacted as it was the same brand I had used for years without a problem...so now I'm hesistaet in dying it again. My hair is naturally wavy.....but usually straighten it by ...ironing it!

OMG pye we must have the same family. I had the same problem and my bangs, well they were always so short the almost weren't there. When it was even mentioned that my hair was going to be cut I'd run and hide, lol. I hated going to bed with those bobby pins or rollers in my hair. And my hair is naturally curly. It already lays in ringlets....when it's long, lol. The irony of it if they would have just let my hair grow they would have had their Shirley Temple look....LOL. What kind did you use to dye your hair...ouch that must have been just awful for you.....aaaah my friend I feel for you. Maybe if you get one that doesn't have peroxide in it or the same ingredients that other one had. Maybe it was a fluke. I'd right to the company and ask them. Too bad you don't have the box to get the numbers off of it to let them know the lot number. I don't mean a color number, when they make things they have areas in the plant and they all have numbers so they will know which area and machine was used for each batch made. The least they would do is pay for the medisine you had to have and give you something in compensation for your trouble. I'd still write to them and let them know what happened. Ask if they know why it did that and if they have any suggestions since you want to color your hair again. They probably will send you something to try. I use to iron my hair but haven't done that in years, lol. I have put a few starighteners in my hair over the last 30 years or more. Thank you for sharing pye.

I use to thin my hair out as it was heavy and I'd get awful headaches. Now due to a medication that I was taking almost all of it fell out. I'm very lucky that some of it came back but it's not even half as thick as it was. My air is long and I'm glad it is. I like long hair on me. Thank you for responding.

Hello!! Well I like to change my hair color a lot!! I had it all kinds of colors, I had red, blonde, black, brown, I love changing my hair. But the bad thing is that it's gets so damaged, I had to cut most of it off now I have short hair it's shoulder length now but when I had it cut it was just to my ear, and I don't like short hair, I like my hair long, but it's not pretty to have long damage hair, so I had to chop it all off =(

ooooh I'm sorry pinky that you had to cut your hair so short. I'd be so upset if I had to cut mine. That's what scares me is damaging my hair with colors. I hope your hair grows quickly. It's nice though that you are brave enough to change your hair when you want to.

My hair is dark brown and I wouldn't change the color because I like it. It's pretty thin though, and I would love to have nice thick hair. It's also pretty straight - very straight when I blow dry it. If I let it just dry by itself though, it has a wave to it that I don't really like. Curly hair seems fun or straight hair that stayed straight would be nice. If I blow dry my hair in the morning and then it's really humid that day outside, after an hour my very straight hair has become frizzy and wavy. It's frustrating! If I put a tiny bit of scrunching gel in it and scrunch it up when it's wet and let it dry, sometimes the waviness turns out nice, but I never know whether it's going to look good or bad when I do that, so I can only try it on days when I don't care what my hair looks like!

lol, and how many days do we not care what our hair looks like? I know of some when I'm not going any plaace and staying in. lol I hope you get the frizzys straightened out. I wet my hair or dampen it every time before fixing it that way it does not frizz.

I would never change the colour of my hair now, I'm quite satisfied with being 50% grey. My natural colour is black and I fell for little horse play a few years ago, a friend of mine at work offered me a tube of cheap hair colouring, he said it was similar to "Just For Men", and it was to tone down the grey a little. Well, I tried it and thought it looked a little dark, so I washed my hair again, and again, lol, when I saw him the next day he showed me the box, it was raven black hair dye. I'm not kidding, it looked like I had cut a circle out of shiny black plastic and stuck it on my head. Grey is good, is'nt it? :-)

Oh my goodness, how could a friend do this to you? That sounds horrible. I hope you were able to wash that mess out of your hair! Yes, I have very much silver in my hair and I earned every one of them, lol. I don't have a problem with it. If I had black hair I might like the colors better. My hair is light brown and silver.

the color of my hair is black but it is my wife who always go to her favorite salon just to make sure that her hair is bein well taken cared off.right now, red is the color of her hair...the "it" color nowadays according to her without hi lights this time. she maintains a long hair because i dont allow her to have a short hair.it is shiny, smooth and straight.easy to manage and just perfect for her. as for you, try getting a haircut and visit your nearest salon.the hair experts know what kind of haircut that will works for you....because the cut depends on the shape of your face. then for the colors, they will check the color of your skin tone and will give the best color that would enhance more of your beauty. lastly, use hair conditioner everyday. ...this are all tips from my wife.

I take very good care of my hair. I do use a conditioner on my hair everytime I wash it. Which I am told by my hair dresser not to do everyday. Every other day is better. I don't color my hair it is the natural color. Once in awhile I will have him to put something in my hair that lasts about 6 weeks. Nothing permanent. I will trim my hair but not cut it. I have spent a lot of money on my hair.I've also been to the salons that say they fix your hair according to your face. I hated it I paid way too much for something I went home washed out and redid. I won't go to one of those places again. My stylist I use now is wonderful. I wouldn't trade him for anyone.

mine is turning gray, so I thought about dying it all gray just to help it out LOL why prolong the inevitable? I guess I should get some of that JUST FOR MEN stuff or something...

I was wondering if that comb it in stuff for men would work on womens hair. I don't know why they call it just for me to comb out the gray and have our natural color? Oh well, I don't know that I will find out. If that is what will help you to feel good about yourself, then do it. it may lighten your mood and help you to feel better about yourself. It sure did me a long time ago when I lightened my hair with something that washes out with every wash. Thank you for sharing.
