Why would you not post your real photo on your profile?

ALthough i agree that when you are accessing chat networks, you do like to be more discreet, and hence refrain from giving your true identity. But here in my lot, which is such a nice, healthy and open forum, why would anybody not dipaly his/her original identity...?
I find it rather hard to understand.
Probably you guys could help me with this query of mine...

Well, I'm using my real name and I have pictures of mine on my profile. Although that pictures is a work of art by me.... lol.... But that's me.
First thing I trust my self, oh sometimes hahahhahaha lol. Trusting myself or knowing myself I can easily pick which one who to be trusted for me.

You dont need to post your Photo as an Avatar. You can post any picture that you like most. then why there is question about why didnt you post your photo in your profile?

Yes! I agree that privacy is privacy; but dear friend; keeeping your privacy does not stop you from showing your face; oe it does...?
I am sure, you will be proud of what you are...and the best reflection of that is through your face. Then why you should hesitate in showing your real photo man?
Come on buddy! You have an individuality, and you should not be afraid to show it.

Hm... you make me think on this. I think its actually because it becomes a kind of privacy issue, generally people hesitate to disclose there identities on internet and I am one of them. And another reason for not doing so is I love the image I uploaded.

Very true!
But on a lighter note; why would you need an image to reflect the real you; i am sure, a person's face is indeed a great reflection of his/her persona. Discusiions, contributions, making last friends, it is all about being trasparent and uniquely being you; the true you...what do you say...?

The reason I've never posted a photo is simple. I'm not all that knowledgeable about computers, so I have no idea how to do it. If I did, I wouldn't hesitate on myLot, although I would hesitate on several other sites. You're right. This is a warm-fuzzy type of place. Those who make us want to pull our hair out are easily ignored, and the others are a joy! That includes you, my friend.

For me, it depends on where I am at on the Internet. On certain sites, I do have a real photo of myself as my avatar. On forums and sites like mylot though, I generally prefer to upload an image that I like rather than an actual photo of myself.
I guess it comes down to a privacy and comfort thing with me. Sites that I use professionally have my real image. Sites I use for fun have an avatar image.
