I know that some people might need prescriptions for certain disorders and the like but not everyone has insurance including me. I was wondering if anyone thinks it would be better off to take something otc and that it could work just as safely as anything else for certain disorders.

off the counter is used until you need a prescription. off the counter does not necessarily address what you need, there are no off the counter for diabetes for example off the counter is not as strong, that is why everyone can buy it off the counter, it may not help get rid of your pain when that happens you take more when you take more than you are supposed to because it is not working you chance over dosing and killing yourself, 25,000 americans die each year from liver failure because of tylenol overdose, check out my discussion here on mylot where I provided the information link.

Not everything has something over the counter. It does seem it would be that simple. The thing i do is walmart has a four dollar list. So i go to the health department which only cost ten dollars to be seen. Then ask them if they can prescribe something on the four dollar list. If they can't then the health department has a pharmacy also and it only cost six dollars for common stuff. Other things can cost up to ten dollars. Its still affordable though.
