I am just curious if there is anybody here in mylot community who's so sure that he or she is a 100% Pessimistic? It seems to be a NOT so good way of perceiving life and seeing things in a negative way. So there, I hope to meet those kind of people and know why do they think the other way around?! Thanks for your time reading this... hope I'll find the nicest answer that will make me optimistic about my topic. :) Gid bless us all

I know you won't believe me but I consider myself a pessimist,I am hopeful for my friends but not for myself.I have always looked at the glass as half full and y-there was a tiny hole that you can't see so it will never be full.I am always surprised when good things happen to me.

REALLY?! and let me quote your words "you won't believe me" you seem to prove that you are being pessimist because you doubt that I will believe you. But anyway, if you are hopeful for every friend you've got more than yourself... let me tell you this. I AM HOPEFUL for YOU more than myself! And you may never know how much you've touched the lives of those people around you... including ME! THANKS :)

usually people with hard lives tend to be pessimists because they have given up on their lives due to too many bad things happening to them. they also probably hang out with all the wrong people that bring them down and make them low.

That might be the reason why they seem to look at life in a very negatie way... sigh, wish I could help. :(

I used to have a friend (did you see, I said USED too) Anyways she was so pessimistic she gave me a headache. She would ask me for advice on things but as soon as I said anything she would tell me why that wouldn't work for her. No matter what it was she couldn't do it because. She drove me nuts. I finally had enough from her when she told me her life was miserable and my life was wonderful. I told her we all have problems its just how we choose to deal with them that makes a difference. We no longer talk as I can not keep trying to help her when she wont help herself. YES i tried many times to help her emotionally and other ways too. By the way I know you said in the mylot community but i am 100 percent optimistic so its not me. lol

Pessimists certainly exist - and I find my husband is becoming more and more negative as he gets older. He used to say I was pessimistic, but I think I'm becoming more POSITIVE as I get older, because I appreciate everything more than I used to. Negative people can really bring you down and make you feel miserable - so it's best to try to avoid them if possible.

To be 100% pessimistic I don´t believe so but people that sometimes feel a little pessimistic there may be anywhere in this world. When we are passing for difficult times it´s hard to see the light in the end of the tunel then we feel a bit pessimistic or depressed. That´s normal. The idea is to act and try to think optimistic cause like I heard, when things are too bad it´s because it´s getting closer for them to become good.

I like the the last line... Never heard that until you've mentioned it here. Thanks for the share and for letting realize why a pesimist becomes a pesimist. :)

I am one of the most optimistic people I know. But, my husband is the exact opposite. He can see the negative in anything. The plan will always fail, the cup is always half empty, there is bad in everyone. I find it hard to communicate with him sometimes. I don't think that he is 100% pesimistic, but sometimes you can tell he wants to believe that there is better out there. GOD Bless!

Ironic I guess that you are an extreme opposites of each other... maybe you are meant for each one to compliment what the other one lacks. Nice couple and thanks for responding here... Way to go... for having the guts to know a pesimist and even LOVING him. :) KUDOS for you and God bless you both

I think there are pessimists here. They are the ones who are suffering from depression, and the ones who are talking about ending it all. Now I suffer from low grade depression, but I am also a Christian so I feel that things work together for good for me. I guess you do need hope in this world and although we cannot all be Pollyannas, we can at least know that things are not as bad as they could be and that in the future something good will come to you.

Hi Jhordie, I am sure there are people like that but 100%, I do know! I mean I always love to be optimistic but there are times in my life where I think about how if and what if...but I will always correct myself by trusting God and believing that "thy will be done"! ANyway, I hope you will be able to learn from them if ever you will meet these group of people and give us some feedback after that. It's nice to learn a lot! I have a friend in College who is very negative. But, she always hang out with us who balance her emotions...LOL! But, I know even this time, she is still like this....

How was it hanging around such a pessimistic friend? Kudos for you for keeping her/him in her/his sane condition of balancing the emotion of positive and negative ones. Thanks for sharing that to us.

lol =D Without a pessimistic person around, where do the optimistic person comes about?? For everything negative, there's bound to be positive.. I dun belong to the pessimistic group because i believe in life ^_^ There are always highs and lows in life.. Whatever one is facing rightnow, might not last forever.. Though one might be stuck in a certain situtation for quite some time, but it does not mean that it will remain that way.. Looking at the other angle, instead of syaing 1 more pessimist day, we can say, the day to optimist is getting nearer.. lol =D It all depends on oneself, how they wanna look at life.. It's hard to change pessimist into optimist overnight.. But do not give up, because the day will come sooner or later, whether one tries or not ^_^ hehe

Pessimists are just optimists that have been let down too many times. And I don't believe that anyone could be 100% pessimistic, just that they are able to come off as such. A lot of pessimists say some of the most depressing things, but sometimes are thinking otherwise; these people have just become habitually pessimistic. Sometimes they say something and they are not even sure why they said it. Other times they are looking for reassurance and sometimes feed off of other people comforting them whether they actually needed it or not. I believe that everyone can be pessimistic at times, but no one is truly, down to their heart, 100% pessimistic. I am realistic.

I think there are no totally pessimist and optimist. I feel upset sometime and may think pessimistic. But sometimes when I am excited that I am full of the energy. Then I am optimistic.
