Do you find ironing clothes a tough housework?

My friend finds ironing her clothes the most difficult work to do. She consumes most of her time when she does this work at home. It's good for her that her husband is so good at ironing clothes. She'd rather cook, wash and clean the house than iron. Funny because this is the easiest work for me. What household work do you hate to do?

The most hateful chore for me is dusting. If I can just avoid this task, I will! As for ironing, it's a tough job. It's not on my "hate" list but I prefer ironing to dusting. Usually, I spend two to three hours ironing. And I do this at least once or twice a week. My legs are the first to go "ouchy" after an hour of standing, then followed by a lower back ache. Sometimes, I try to sit while ironing just so I can rest my legs for a few minutes.

why do you hate dusting? does it make you sneeze? You better use something to cover your nose and mouth to avoid the dust getting in to your system. . . as for ironing, yeah, it can sometimes give you back ache and leg cramps if you will be standing for long hours. Sitting once in a while is the solution for that. thanks for responding.

Hello again Yes, dusting never fails to make me sneeze. I've tried covering my nose but still, I end up sneezing. And there are times, my sneezing episode worsens. When it comes to ironing, I do sit once in a while to give my legs some rest and relieve the cramps.

I too hate ironing my clothes. Other than ironing and cooking I enjoy all the other house work. Luckily my daughter likes ironing so I have handed over that job to her!!

That's good. At least there is somebody in your family who loves to do that work and you can divide the work among the family members.

Yup, ironing is tough and dreadful - I simply detest doing it. I don't mind the washing (machine), hanging out the clothes and folding them; but not ironing. It's a task I would try to postpone until I don't have enough clothes to wear to work!

Really? Why is it tough? You are like my friend. Anyway, I understand that. Ironing clothes isn't the kind of work for everyone. God bless.

Cleaning the house and doing all the housework may be fun but there are times when we reach the point of being exhausted at doing the same things all over again. It's good that there is somebody in your family who will the job for you. Thanks. dd

I do not have anything I hate doing around the home,I would rather not clean the oven or kitchen cupboards but I still do them otherwise they get to grubby.I like doing the ironing it is very relaxing and seeing all the clothes all smart and hanging nicely in the cupboards ,it looks so nice and satisfying, seeing my husband and son turned out smart is lovely for me.The cleaning and polishing is very satisfying I love to look at my hard work, and take pride in my home, and garden. It is so nice to have a clean home and change the beds once a week all clean and fresh that is the way I like to have it.I cannot understand woman who put off the house work till they have to ,it would drive me mad to sit in a mess. Then the work is twice as hard,it will take easy and such hard work which you would never finish and all that dust is not good for you,my husband works very hard to pay for everything and it is only right he comes home to clean home, somewhere he can relax in.

I feel what you feel. After doing the housework, I feel the satisfaction when I see things clean and in order. It's relaxing when the house is tidy and clean. Thanks for responding. dd

I like ironing clothes too, I like it that i don't have to move around the house or go up and down the stairs. I can even choose to do it sitting down. I find it relaxing because my mind don't get too stressed. I don't like to cook, maybe its because I don't know how to cook that well and I can afraid that my husband will not eat the food i cooked hehe

I love to iron clothes as funny as that sounds I used to iron my dads uniform for him all the time with the military creases and all I do not mind it at all I used to go out to my mothers house just to iron her clothes!

Really? Isn't it difficult to iron those military uniforms which need special ironing services? I mean, military uniforms have many pockets and it should be ironed well.

Nope, i even think ironing clothes is the easiest task. I've been ironing my clothes since high school. I wake at 5am so i used my time to iron my school uniform while my mom is asleep. I need to help out. So right now i guess ironing is pretty easy. I'd rather iron lots of clothes than wash them by hand. I hate washing by hand. The pants most specifically, are too heavy when they're wet. Plus it wounds my hands they i keep brushing them for a long period of time.

I find ironing easy to do if few clothes clothes =) and I dont like it much because it consumes not my time but on our electricity. =( What I hate to do is laundry even with washing machine because I still need to hand wash those clothes which are dirty and those for hand wash only.

Cutting teh cost of electricity is one of the reasons why I prefer to iron our clothes than have somebody do it for us. I once hired somebody to iron our clothes but I didn't like her work. It took her one whole day to iron the clothes which I can do in just an hour.

i dont really iron unless i have to but if i were to say the house work that i hate to do the most is washing dishes and putting them away now thats time consuming at least you can hold off on ironing your clothes until you use them but you have to wash your dishes everyday
