I have tried a number of virus checkers over the years. I have gone from using Norton, to McAfee and now I use AVG but I only ever have one virus checker on my PC at a time. How about you, how many virus checkers do you use?

I only have one virus checkers, i use Kaspersky 5.0 Free for my Windows ME. I have try many antivirus but no one can stop a virus. Antivirus will slow your performance, and every time you access file and it will be checked automatically.

Kaspersky can detect your virus with automatic, if you open explorer windows. But, i see in the internet this is the top antivirus. This antivirus can protect your security Windows from a virus, this work on Windows XP/Vista/Longhorn. For 98ME, this is cannot detect all database. I use Windows 98ME, and Brontok,Amburadul, and Malingsia Viruses has infect my computer. I clean my Windows 98ME with make a new folder, and all virus cannot access my file. And, i fix my registry Windows then restart my Windows. This is need a long time to do that things, and my Windows back to normal. Now, i can using my Windows with free from viruses.

I don't have any. I don't use them. I run spyware every now and then, but I keep everything backed up on my PC and I can just redo it anytime. No big deal to me.

Well that's pretty scary. I have seen other people work that way only to find that all their backups for the past year are corrupted and every time they restored a backup they had the same viruses again. good luck with that method. :)

wow no virus program. ok what do you do when you back up a virus, and how do you know your system gets a virus, a spyware program will not catch a virus most of the time as it is not looking for them, they look for spyware. Now you have a backup of your system that has a viruse on it, and you re-insall the backup, your just possibly installing the virus, or the spyware back on to your computer if I were your friends, or on your email contacts list, I would not open any emails from you and they would just get deleted, virus's do spread through the email.

I have only one anti virus installed on my computer. Earlier i tried to use two anti virus softwares but i was not able because it asked me to uninstall the previous antivirus and then only it allowed me to install the new one. Plus it is not recommended to have more than one anti-virus software to run on system.

I only ever use one Virus checker at a time but I know people that have multiple checkers because they just keep adding things to their computer without paying attention. :)

I don't think installing several anti-virus will do any good, rather will just cause harm to your computer. There will be a dog fight of virus scanners in your PC causing it to slow down or file defects. You only need one and you choose which you like best with regards to performance and results. I have been using AVG 8.0 Free for a long time now and it didn't give me any headache in terms of computer security, internet and virus protection. I don't trust Norton nor McAfee very much because I got many problems from them before.

I agree we only need one virus checker on our systems but I have seen people putting more than one, mostly because they didn't know what they were doing or there are more than one family member that does it. I really do like McAfee though.

I have only one.I do not think that it is safe to run multiple anti-viruses on our systems. If so,then our systems will be at a great risk.the performance of one will be affected by the performance of the other. It is not advisable to use as such.Further, this would affect the performance of our systems as well.Am using AVG and i feel that this is the best anti-virus software ever.I have tried numerous anti-virus softwares like Kaspersky,mcafee,norton,avira,e-scan and so on and even some sd-ware removers but i don't think that these are effective ones as i felt that my system have slowed down.So i only use one anti-virus and i perform a scan everyday and i do not have any virus in my system so far

Those are two virus checkers I have never heard of before I started this discussion. I am surprised they can be the best. How long have they been around?

Even I work the way you do. I keep 4-5 anti virus softwares with me and use them one by one after some intervals. At I time, I keep only one anti virus. There is such a wide variety of viruses these days that a single anti virus software does not fulfil the need of keeping the computer virus free. I have found the best solution, I format my OS drive every 3 months and reinstall my OS. This way, I get rid of all the viruses and malware.

^_^ Howdy!.... WebMann!.... No, I don't use antivirus on my Ubuntu PC. It is not necessary to use at all. Even a firewall. My firewall is only on my router. ^_^ Thanks!.... and Enjoy!....

Its not recommended to use two or more different antivirus program in one computer. Anyway, im using avira free edition, the best antivirus for me so far. Its my computer saver! Lol! I have encountered two virus attacks that almost wreck my o.s! Thanks to avira! Aside from antivirus, i have also spybot which is a spyware/malware remover! I think the best security program i use is mozilla firefox with adblock and no script in add ons! =)
