I have some books I want to get rid of but they're too new/nice/expensive to just donate to the library or hospital. I'd like to give it a try selling them on Amazon. Have you ever sold anything on amazon? Does it work well? Are there limitations on age of the books and condition (not that mine are in bad condition) and price you want?

I've sold several books on Amazon. As long as there is a page on Amazon for the book you want to sell it's alright to sell. Of course, if you pay you can actually have an account where you can set up pages for items that do not exist on Amazon. Sometimes books sell well, sometimes the books do not. You just have to list items and see what happens really.

i think I'll just try the free account for now. Good to know that you can create your own listings for the books! Thank you.

That's actually my only form of income right now. However, it's not a lot. I only have about 500 books on there right now. But, it is a good way to just get rid of a few books you don't want anymore. People like me, though, count on people like you, to donate all those books to libraries, and thrift stores. Good luck, I think you'll do well selling them.

I had a "used bookstore" on Amazon for two years and managed to make about $200 or more per month until all the books I wanted to get rid of were gone. I was lucky enough to have my family donate books to my store, as well, because they knew I was a single mom doing everything I possibly could to bring in an income. They didn't want to directly give me hand-out's for obvious reasons, but they wanted to support my work efforts. It was really easy and, if I had the stock, I'd pick this business back up in a heart beat.

Thats really awesome. I've always thought it would be kind of fun to run a used bookstore - except a shop not online. Never sure though where i'd get the inventory to open up!
