Have you (or anyone you know) been the victim of a crime? What happened? I can be lucky I don't have such experience.

My husband's Jeep was stolen 6 or 7 years ago. It was stolen on a Monday and recovered on Thursday. The thief was driving the Jeep when the police spotted him. He was high at the time. When we got the Jeep back it was full of trash, old clothes and was filthy inside. The spare tire and tools were gone and the window was busted. When the police arrested this guy they found in his pocket some pictures of our kids. Why would he even want pictures of the kids? That part just creeps me out. The thief was also wanted on other charges, so my husband did not have to testify at the trial. We get a letter every year or two telling us he is up for parole, but he isn't out yet.
