The remains of 28 individual snakes has been found in Northeastern Colombia. Those snakes measured between 12 and 15 meters long and weighted up to 2500 pounds. it is said that they spent most of their time in the water and ate mainly crocodiles. It is estimated that they lived between 58 and 60 million years ago. New discoveries are being made all the time but this is considered an important fine. I don't even like thinking about snakes but can you imagine seeing one that size? I wonder if it's possible that primitive man was here at that time? There have been suggestions that people were here as much as fifty million years ago. Does any of you find this sort of thing interesting and can learning about it be of any benefit? It would be difficult to imagine such a world.

Hi Pose123! That is really amazing and interesting at the same time. I believe that such discovery can be beneficial in studying the environment during those times and could somehow predict the future of our environment based on the changes and evolution through the years. However, if those gigantic snakes still exist, I don't think I would want to be near them even if they will be in cages. That is really scary! It can gulped me up in a second! Take care and have a great day! lovelots..faith

These discoveries are rather interesting. It is interesting to see how life on earth resembled like so many years ago.

I Love to learn abut this stuff and to imagine what it would be like to live at that time. I think from all I've heard that as a human, I'd be a tree dweller. Humans have only been equipped with their brains to survive. Their brawn has never been much. You sound interesting would you be my friend?

Hi savypat, Thank you for responding and I will gladly be your friend, just send me a request. I sometimes think it would have been interesting to have lived back then too, but I'd stay away from these snakes LOL. Blessings.

I don't know how to send you a request, I just realized all I've ever done is ask and people put me on their lists. Tell me how and I'll do it.

Hi raven, Thank you for responding and things were really different that's for sure. We will keep on learning, but it's unlikely we will ever know all of life's secrets. It was probably too hot for any life at one time. Blessings.

Well once you think about it people we are living in the best times. If we lived 100 years ago we would be dying from diseases for which we now don't even go to a doctor and almost everything that bites us could have killed us.And also 100 years from now I think it will be a terrible time to live in because of pollution and global warming. This has almost nothing to do with those snakes but I hope you don't mind me writing my thoughts

Hi grebojsa, Thank you for commenting but I really don't think we can say what it will be like a hundred years from now and I hope you are wrong about that. I agree that we are living in good times at least we don't have those snakes around LOL. Blessings.

I read that, wasn't that something! No telling WHAT was on this planet millions of years ago. I think we have only just scratched the surface! I believe there's lots of shocking surprises still out there yet to be found!

Yes, I find it very interesting. It also afirms my belief in evolution and the fact that our planet has undergone many changes and will continue to change even if we humans don't contribute through global warming and other abuses of the earth. It is difficult to imagine what life for humans would have been like at that time.

I hate snakes and to think that there was one that was this big is just making my skin crawl. Yuck. That is so awful. I do not know what I would do if I seen one that big, I totally freaked out when we lived in the country and we seen garden snakes daily. and they do not get too too big.

OMG!! I am really glad I wasn't alive then. I would have absolutely hated such huge snakes living close to me. LOL!! I don't really "hate" snakes as such, as long as they are far away from me. Cheers and happy Mylotting

Hello Pose dear..well I did read about this finding and that the snakes were so huge that they would put the anaconda (which happens to be a movie on a big snake) to shame.......I did learn zoology and anthropology in college and hence such pieces of news do interest me.......Thanks for sharing Pose dear...

I saw that article about the snakes. EWE, YUCK, I don't like snakes, the thought of one big enough to eat a crocodile is creepy. I think it sounds like the things science fiction movies are made of.

Hi April, Thank you for commenting and I don`t like to even think about such snakes either. It is very likely that someone will use this in a science fiction movie someday, but we know they existed. I`m just happy that they are no longer around. Blessings.
