If given a choice I prefer homoeopathy. I was trained as a nurse and I was also a layman homoeopathic practitioner, so I think I can give a fair comparison. Even though most homoeopathic remedies and allopathic medicines are derived from the same sources the basic principles are different. Homoeopathy treats the causes, while allopathy treats the symptoms. In a true homoeopathic system the patient, or someone who can answer for the patient, is asked many questions. The main reason is to find the best remedy for the patient, not the illness. It is for this reason that people suffering from the same illness and symptoms may be given different remedies. Compare this with allopathy where every person will be given the same medication. Many people say homoeopathy has no side effects but they forget to mention about aggravation. Aggravation occurs when the remedy given is accurate for the patient, but the potency is too high. Giving the same remedy with a lower potency will reduce the aggravation. Several homoeopathic remedies give a better response than allopathic medicine. Apis mell is the answer to bee stings and the effects can be seen almost immediately. Calendula ointment ensures that wounds leave no scars. Belladonna eases the child birth process. As far as I know it is not recommended to use both of them at the same time. all the best, rosdimy

If you want a quick relief from any illness then its allopathy but then there in the long run there is a possibility of side-effects. But in homeopathy medicine for any illness takes time as it removes it from the root. That is for example if you are having cough taking a allo. medicine it will disappear within a few days but the medicines given have after effects which is seen in the later years. Homeo medicines as far as what I have heard it doesn't have side effects. IT is preferable to take homeo medicines. I had migrane. I have found relief from homeopathy medicines though it took me close to 3-6 months.Hope your confusion is cleared.

It depends on what ailment or condition I'm experiencing. If I have a migraine, I just want something fast & effective so I use the prescription my doctor wrote for me. If I am experiencing allergies or something less immediate, I think homeopathic remedies are effective and side effect free.

The difference is "Allopathy" actually works, and homeopathy is a fraud. Every time I drink a glass of water I'm using homeopathy. There is absolutely no scientific evidence that Homeopathy has any potential to cure anything. The whole theory behind it is ridiculous. It doesn't even take into account the hundreds of substances that are already present in the fluid it is created in. Somehow, it magically knows it is only supposed to choose the substances you need to make your concoction. I hate regular medicine, I hate all the potential side effects, I despise animal research, but I'm not going to fool myself into believing in a healing system that has no basis in reality. The only alternative healing I give credence to is faith healing. I do believe in miracles Homeopathy has no side effects simply because there isn't anything left of the original substance

Homeopathy works. If you believe in faith healing I wonder why homeopathy is far fetched to you. It's basically energy healing, in homeopathy it's the energy of the original substance & the energy of the 'provings' at work, and I suppose the expectations & energy of the user. It's not so very different from Reiki, prayer, faith healing or any other energy based treatment.
