Its more to do with the human nature ,look around you ,even the case of newspapers, any bad news ,its put up in big ,bright ,bold writing ,but a good news is put somewhere in the middle pages missing everyones view.
Maybe it is something to do with evolution, where then people would be ready to hear bad news ,so as to get prepared for the on coming dangers, and whereby they could prevenntive measures at the earliest .But as for good news ,it would make them complacent ,so they were slightly disinterested with that .
well that was my part of theory ... but one thing sure i would like to celebrate good news more than regret for bad news,we need to start with ourself and show the examples.

This seems to be true and it is quite pathetic. I would much rather give good news than bad. Cheers!!

Maybe people are getting pessimistic these days that they always hunger for some negative events happening?..or maybe people are more aware and vigilant in these days events that they tend to relay and absorb faster bad news? I'm not really sure but I also observed this.

Jealousy? Guess so. I admit I'm one of the guilty. Especially when those colleagues that I dont like get scolding from boss, I will eagerly spread to all those who dont like them also. Somehow feel vindicated when spreading gossip, dont know why! Come to think of it, it's really very silly, after all, no increment or promotion for spreading bad news!
