If you are the breadwinner, do you expect your partner to be in charge of the household like cooking, laundry and kids?

I think the other half needs to be consulted before the final decision. Thanks for convenient social facilities, it is possible for both working and living a happy life, if it is the choice. However in special periods, say when the children need home care, and for financial considerations, one might accept staying home. In such a case, she is not by any means a supportee, as she is making contribution to the family. A qualified home maker should be appreciated by deeds as well as by words.

After work the breadwinner wants to come home and rest. Who takes over after the partner is off the clock? Both people need to help around the house. After hours it should be a combined effort. My husband and I are better at different things so we have different chores.

I would expect a helping hand whenever I need one, breadwinner or not. And I would do the same too.

If you think so then its not a good thing to do.Its just an understanding with your partner.Helping in the household chores shows that you love her & inturn she loves you. There is no compulsion from loving husbands to their wives to do all the household chores.
